    Abstract: A cosmetic composition suitable for topical application to human skin or hair comprises a blend of two or more polyol fatty acid polyesters, the polyol having at least 4 free hydroxyl groups, at least 60% of which are then esterified with one or more fatty acids having from 8 to 22 carbon atoms, the composition having a Melting Value of from 20.degree. C. to 60.degree. C., as measured by the Melting Value Test, and preferably a Consistency Value of from 10 to 350, as measured by the Consistency Value Test.
