Patent number: 10603178Abstract: An implantable prosthetic hip system generally includes acetabular components, femoral components, and tooling for implanting the components. The acetabular components include an acetabular socket and a bushing received within the acetabular socket. The acetabular socket defines a reamer with cutters for preparing the acetabulum. The femoral components generally include a cutter cap, a head cover, and a screw. Tooling includes a cutting bit that is used to cut a flat on the femoral head. The cutter cap is advanced in a cutting action onto the femoral head to remove the sides of the head and the cutter cap is also implanted on the femoral head. The head cover is positioned on the cutter cap, and retained with a coupling screw. The acetabular socket and the head cover are assembled with a bushing therebetween. Methods of implantation are also provided.Type: GrantFiled: November 21, 2017Date of Patent: March 31, 2020Assignee: Storage Enterprises, LLCInventors: Roberto Augusto Miki, Ernesto Hernandez, Javier E. Publication number: 20160227852Abstract: Method and apparatus for covering a hand in a manner that provides a high level of protection against abrasion as a side area of a palm is dragged across a physical component. This is accomplished by moving the seam used to attach a top and bottom component of a hand away from the side region of the palm toward the top of the hand. In this way, the seam remains undisturbed as the palm is dragged across a work product.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 15, 2016Publication date: August 11, 2016Applicant: Azusa Safety, Inc.Inventors: Ernesto Hernandez, Ren Tong

Patent number: 8308727Abstract: Tooling and methodologies for separation and dissection of the subantral membrane from the floor of the maxillary sinus, and for packing bone and bone substitutes under the subantral membrane. The tooling and associated methodology employ a handle and one or more support structures extending therefrom. A thin member extends from the distal end of the support structure(s). The thin member has a first peripheral region disposed opposite a second peripheral region. The first peripheral region is joined to or integrally formed with the distal end of the support structure(s). The second peripheral region defines a thin blade-like section for dissecting the subantral membrane from the floor of the maxillary sinus. In the preferred embodiment, the blade-like section is angled downward away from the distal support structure, which aids in positioning the blade-like section on the floor of the maxillary sinus.Type: GrantFiled: August 21, 2008Date of Patent: November 13, 2012Assignee: Innovative Implant Technology, LLCInventors: Ernesto Hernandez, Ronald G. Litke, Jr., Mark James DeBisschop, Antonio Jose Gordils Wallis

Patent number: 8029523Abstract: A device includes a tubular element, and a cutter spring-biased relative to the tubular element. In an unloaded configuration the cutter is displaced relative to the tubular element by a displacement distance, and when the cutter is in a loaded configuration the displacement distance is reduced. A first structure is longitudinally fixed relative to the cutter and rotationally engaged relative to the tubular element. A length of the first structure extends proximally in the unloaded configuration. A second structure is longitudinally displaceable relative to the first structure. In the loaded configuration, a driver engages and rotates both the first and second structures, and thus the tubular element and cutter together. Once the cutter breaks through the bone, the cutter spring-biased into the unloaded configuration, resulting in disengagement of the first structure from the driver to prevent rotation of either the tubular element or the cutter.Type: GrantFiled: September 11, 2007Date of Patent: October 4, 2011Assignee: Innovative Implant Technology, LLCInventors: Antonio Jose Gordils Wallis, Ronald G. Litke, Jr., Ronald T. Callahan, II, Edward Riemer, Ernesto Hernandez
