  • Patent number: 6394610
Abstract: An integrated front projection display system having a planar projection screen formed on a front surface of a rigid frame, the screen including means for reflecting light from the screen in a preselected spatial distribution. A movable arm is hingedly connected at a first end to the rigid frame, the arm being movable between a storage position and a projection position, the arm further comprising means for moving the arm between said storage and projection positions and for retaining the arm at each of said positions. A projection head is mounted on a second end of the movable arm such that it does not substantially obstruct the view of the projection screen when the arm is in the projection position.

  • Patent number: 6179426
Abstract: A front projection display system that integrates an optical engine, having control and power supply electronics, and a dedicated projection screen to provide a compact video display device. The projection engine is coupled to a high gain projection screen, having an optimized reflection pattern to give optimum optical performance in ambient light and viewing angle sensitive environments. Components of the projection engine are modularly placed in a retractable arm, pivotally connected to the screen. The arm offers precise registration to the screen apparatus and thus repeatably precisely aligns optically and mechanically to the screen. The projection wall system has an open projection position and a closed storage position. Use of a radically offset projection head having matching keystone correction features allows the arm to protrude above the head of the presenter and offer a sharp and unobtrusive projection zone.

  • Patent number: 6082864
Abstract: A liquid crystal display projector for projecting images on a screen. The projector includes a projector body and an optical projection system positioned generally within the projector body. A releasable first self-aligning lamp socket for receiving a first end of a longitudinal replaceable bulb and a releasable second self-aligning lamp socket for receiving a second end of a longitudinal replaceable bulb are mounted on a hinged platform coupled to the projector body. The platform has a first position where the platform swings the bulb outside of the projector body and a second position where the platform swings the bulb into an interior position inside the projector body optically aligned with respect to the optical projection system.

  • Patent number: 5826962
Abstract: A projector includes a housing having a single light projection source. A first condenser projects a first light beam from the light source, through an LCD image display screen mounted in the housing, and to a projection surface. A second condenser projects a second beam of light from the light source, to an overhead projector mounted on the housing, and to the projection surface. A beam blocking device is connected to the housing for movement into a position for selectively blocking the second beam of light.

  • Patent number: 5382991
Abstract: A mounting for the projection head of an overhead projector allows the head to pivot through an arc of 90.degree. between a position for operation and a position for transportation. A position lock secures the projection head in either of the two positions.

  • Patent number: 5301094
Abstract: A lamp changer assembly for an overhead projector includes a reflector bracket and a lamp support bracket mounting two lamps. The reflector mounting bracket includes a slot and the lamp support bracket has attached thereto a slide which rides in the slot. Contact between the end points of the slot and the slide determines the position of the lamps relative to the reflector bracket and the reflector mounted thereon.

  • Patent number: 5241333
Abstract: An overhead projector is provided with two lamps arranged in an angular relationship on a frame having a single pivot point to cause the lamp not in use to be out of the path of air flowing to the lamp in use within the projector. The pivot point may coincide with a lead screw which would permit axial movement of the lamps in addition to rotational movement to correct for undesirable color effects.
