  • Patent number: 6386750
Abstract: In a process for producing stable emulsions of at least two substantially immiscible fluids, particularly emulsions of a liquid fuel with water, a considerable increase in the efficiency of the emulsion-formation process is achieved by injecting the fluids to be emulsified into an emulsification chamber provided with an injection system which imparts to the fluids a motion in a direction which is substantially perpendicular to the general direction in which the fluids travel through the emulsification chamber. This injection system can be provided by means of a diffuser having an inlet hole, through which a stream of liquid is fed in a substantially axial direction, and at least one outlet hole, which leads into the chamber and whose axis lies on a plane which is substantially perpendicular to the direction of the inlet stream.

  • Patent number: 5445656
Abstract: The present invention relates to a fuel for reducing the noxiousness of exhaust gases, particularly for internal-combustion engines. The fuel has the peculiarity of comprising a mixture of a combustible fuel with 10 to 42% water by weight with respect to the combustible fuel, with the addition of a lubricating antifreeze activator in an amount comprised between 0.5 and 2% by weight of the amount of combustible fuel. The mixture is atomized and stabilized by means of a turbine transducer which provides an electro-magneto-mechanical action, subjecting the mixture, in succession, to positive-pressure actions alternated with negative-pressure actions at high frequency.

  • Patent number: 4597671
Abstract: An apparatus is disclosed for emulsifying and atomizing fluid fuels with secondary fluids, in particular water, which has improved characteristics over commercially available apparata especially as regards the maximum mixable proportion of secondary fluid without undergoing efficiency deterioration, stability, and homogenization level. The apparatus comprises a first mechanical cavitation chamber wherein the fluid fuel and water are mixed and pretreated, a combined action cavitation chamber of a mechanical and electromagmetic type, and a final cavitation chamber, wherein homogenization of the fluid is completed. The combined actions within the intermediate chamber are achieved by generating within the chamber a centered corridor resulting from the effects of high pressure and vacua, and of an appropriate magnetic field. The invention also provides a method of treating fuel fluids by means of the apparatus illustrated.
