  • Patent number: 6102651
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for forming stacks of items, e.g. stacked newspapers, periodicals or the like, on a tray for further conveyance in the direction of transport, where the stack is taken further by a cross assembler to a compacting tunnel, where there is a blocking device for the stack with at least one charging device with charging electrodes in the direction of transport on both sides near the stack, in which the charging device for electrostatically charging the objects is fitted in the cross assembler.

  • Patent number: 5868546
Abstract: The invention concerns a device for forming, on a conveyor table (7), a stack (6) of stacked objects, such as, for example, newspapers, magazines or the like, which stack is to be conveyed in the conveying direction. The stack is to be conveyed in the conveying direction. The stack is conveyed to a further, different workstation, for example, whilst being conveyed from a cross boom to a shrink-wrapping unit. The invention is characterized in that the stack has a blocking arrangement which comprises at least one charging electrode (11, 12) disposed in the conveying direction on both sides adjacent the stack and at least one contact roller (16) above the stack.

  • Patent number: 5517384
Abstract: A compound surface-charging electrode (6) with a metal housing (11). The housing accommodates two or more unit electrodes and upstream resistances (1) that can be connected to a source (U) of high voltage. The unit electrodes have prongs (3) that project out of the housing. The housing is open enough to allow them to do so. Each prong can be covered up by an electrically conductive electrode hatch (4). The electrode hatch is electrically conducting and connected to the housing. The housing and the electrode hatch are connected over to one terminal of a resistor, the other terminal of which can be grounded.

  • Patent number: 5322011
Abstract: A pressure cylinder is accommodated in a printing assembly and provided with electrostatically assisted ink transfer. Its shaft is mounted in the framework of a printing press. It has a semiconductive jacket that is mounted over a steel surface and can be electrically charged. The shaft is electrically connected to the surface of the cylinder and electrically insulated from the framework. An electric potential can be applied to the shaft in order to charge the semiconductive jacket.

  • Patent number: 5044275
Abstract: A counter pressure cylinder including an electrostatic printing assist system, with the counter pressure cylinder including an insulating jacket having a conductive coating thereof over which a further coating is arranged having limited conductivity. A primary winding, concentric to an electrically grounded axle or shaft of the counter pressure cylinder, is disposed beside the counter pressure cylinder in a fixed fashion with respect to the printing unit, and a secondary winding is mounted concentrically to the electrically grounded shaft of the counter pressure cylinder at one end face of the counter pressure cylinder in a fixed fashion with respect to the counter pressure cylinder. An electrical connection of the secondary winding is connected to the axle of shaft of the counter pressure cylinder and another electrical connection is connected to the coating by way of a rectifier circuit.

  • Patent number: 4686069
Abstract: The air humidifier has a blower (2), the current of air that is generated by which is blown through a plate (3) with a medium that is permeable to air and that releases moisture in order to humidify the air. An electrostatically negatively charged high-voltage electrode (5) is positioned upstream and another (4) downstream of the plate (3).
