  • Patent number: 7258182
Abstract: The present invention relates to a device for continuously regulating the erection of a tandem axle of a vehicle or a self-moving working machine having a vehicle frame and at least one drive axle, wherein a tandem drive axle with a movable tandem axle housing is respectively disposed at the ends of the drive axle, and the torque introduced by the drive axle is mechanically distributed to the wheels disposed in the tandem axle housing through the drive tandem axle.

  • Publication number: 20050252730
Abstract: The present invention relates to a wheel hub for an axle of a motor vehicle or truck, especially for axles of construction-site trucks and off-road vehicles or tipping trucks, including a multi-disk brake consisting of plural disk-shaped outer plates and corresponding disk-shaped inner plates as well as an outer hub and a brake housing, which form an encapsulated housing with a space for the multi-disk brake, wherein the encapsulated housing is formed in the interior such that circulation of cooling fluid located therein occurs in the space. Therein, the outer hub has an at least partially surrounding collar projecting outwardly of the outer hub, wherein plural openings for respectively receiving a wheel bolt for connecting the outer hub to a rim of a wheel are formed in the region of the collar. Further a clearance improving the circulation of the cooling fluid is provided in the space between the outer plates and the outer hub.

  • Patent number: 6652405
Abstract: A multi-speed wheel hub includes a sun gear engagement clutch and a housing engagement clutch. A single shift ring is coupled to and rotates with the input member. The shift ring is positioned between the sun gear engagement clutch and the housing engagement clutch. The shift ring is axially movable along the input member. Upon movement of the shift ring in a first direction, a first engagement clutch of the shift ring engages the sun gear engagement clutch so that torque from the input member is transmitted by the shift ring to the sun gear through a planet carrier and a ring gear to the housing. Upon movement of the shift ring in a second direction a second engagement clutch of the shift ring engages the housing engagement clutch so that torque from the input member is transmitted by the shift ring directly to the housing.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 28, 2001
Date of Patent: November 25, 2003
    Assignee: DT Planetaries Inc.

  • Patent number: 6145409
Abstract: A hybrid gearbox for land vehicles and automotive machines is designed such that the starting up and maneuvering operations of the vehicles are powered by a hydromotor and their normal travel is powered by a direct coupling with an internal combustion engine. In its normal operation, the internal combustion engine drives a neutrally positioned axial piston pump as well as the driven shaft. When operated under load, the driven shaft is decoupled from the internal combustion engine, and the latter drives the variable axial piston pump which in turn delivers pressure to the hydromotor.

  • Patent number: 6053837
Abstract: A drive unit for tandem axles with two planetary transmissions is proposed, wherein a second planetary transmission is a "measuring" transmission interposed in such a manner between a chassis and a rocker of the tandem axle that the difference required for lifting the axle is determined and balanced.

  • Patent number: 5417297
Abstract: A heavy duty work vehicle for rough terrain is provided with tandem axles wherein engine power is transferred equally to both the front and rear wheels of the tandem axles. A gear train having a torque divider splits any unequal torque on the front and rear wheels into two equal torques to obviate wheel lifting and loss of traction.
