  • Patent number: 5069523
Abstract: A cassette for storing spare lengths of light waveguides with their splices is designed as a rotary splice cassette which includes a rotatable cover part. A splice holder that can hold a number of splices is attached to this cover part.

  • Patent number: 5006669
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an end member for a cable sleeve, which end member is sub-divided into at least three segments, with each of the segments having a planar surface coacting with adjacent segments to form a parting plane on which cables are inserted. Each of the segments carry pressure plates which are urged toward each other to grip any cable being inserted therein to firmly anchor the cable in the end member of the cable sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4865893
Abstract: A sleeve tube which has a single, longitudinal division or opening and is movable from a spread condition to a closed condition to form a circle of a first radius and coact with end sealing elements to form a cable sleeve. In the spread condition, the sleeve has a continually changing curvature, with the radius of curvature of the sleeve at a point opposite the opening being on a maximum radius of curvature and the radius of curvature continuing decrease as the openings are approached so that when the sleeve is moved to the closed position, all portions of the sleeve are deformed a slight amount from the relaxed, opened position to the closed position. Thus, a uniform closing pressure can be obtained on the entire periphery of each of the end sealing members.

  • Patent number: 4845314
Abstract: A cable sleeve with a sleeve member engaging a pair of end members having a sealing system including ring seals on the end members and a longitudinal sealing element for each longitudinal slot of the sleeve member characterized by each of the longitudinal sealing elements having at least one groove receiving the seal with the inner wall of the groove in the region of the ring seals of the end members having a lateral opening through which a portion of the longitudinal sealing element can extend to contact the ring seals of the end members and at least the longitudinal sealing element is formed of a foamed plastic material.

Date of Patent: July 4, 1989
    Assignee: Siemens Aktiengesellschaft
    Inventors: Klaus Pichler, Ernst Bachel
  • Patent number: 4752653
Abstract: The present invention is directed to an end member for a cable fitting which is formed by at least two sealing bodies secured together on a joining plane and have a laminar constructively arranged sealing element and a gripping device being integrated in the bodies to grip the cable inserted through a cable inlet and for transferring forces between the cable gripped by one end member to another end member of the cable fitting, said gripping device including clamping members acting on a disk member which is movable in a guide provided on each of the sealing bodies.

  • Patent number: 4735836
Abstract: A sleeve formed of shrinkable material has a longitudinal closure formed of projections and corresponding cut-outs along two longitudinal edges of the closure. The projections of the two longitudinal edges are offset relative to one another and have at least a partially clearly defined reinforcement in relation to the encasing component. When the projections have been fitted together, a retaining element is applied at least periodically to the reinforcements which have been fitted together in series.

  • Patent number: 4714277
Abstract: A longitudinally divided sleeve of shrinkable material has a lock closure along longitudinal edges. One of the longitudinal edges includes a closure element having a locking groove formed by two longitudinally extending leg portions, a second longitudinal edge being provided with a locking element having a longitudinally extending hook part having a resilient projection which is received in the locking groove to form the lock closure. The resilient projection prevents the accidental removal of the hook part from the locking groove and preferably the material forming the two elements has a higher cross-linking than the remaining portions of the heat-shrinkable sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4713272
Abstract: A longitudinally divided cable sleeve has a U-shaped clamp element which coacts with a flexible sheet of heat shrinkable material having a closure element formed along one longitudinal edge. The closure element has a base connected by a neck portion to a longitudinally extending bead around which a portion of the flexible sheet opposite the closure element is wrapped and held by assembling the clamping element thereon. Since the closure element coacts with any portion of the flexible material, the diameter of the sleeve can be matched to the diameter of the article being enveloped in the sleeve.

  • Patent number: 4272154
Abstract: A two-part connecting plug for light wave guide optical fibers which have ends positioned on a flat surface (3) by means of a cover plate (4) with precisely milled grooves (16). The connecting plug parts (13) respectively have end faces (11), lateral (8) locating seats and locating seats (10) extending in the plug direction as reference planes and are biased by means of a single installation means (12) which exerts a force component on all three reference planes in such manner that the parts snugly fit against one another at their three reference planes. A middle piece (14) with corresponding reference planes (8, 10) is used between two like connecting components (13), into which middle piece the connecting components (13) are pressed to seat on the reference planes by means of a ring nut (12) and one pressure pin (6) for each. (FIGS. 3, 4, 6).
