  • Patent number: 5945009
Abstract: A means for spark erosion of workpieces. A workpiece carrier (20) and a carriage (30) including a tool support (32) are movable in controlled fashion with respect to each other along the three axes of a three dimensional coordinate system (X, Y, Z) in the work space (46) of an erosion machine (10). One of the axes (Y) of movement of the carriage (30) is parallel to the axis (A) of the workpiece carrier (20). Workpiece holds (60) of a magazine (50) are movable into the work space (46), one of them each being positioned with its axis parallel to said axis (Y) of the carriage (30) in a transfer position (P). A gripper (40) is disposed on the carriage (30), spaced from the tool support (32), for exchanging workpieces (W) between the magazine (50) and the workpiece carrier (20).

  • Patent number: 5941138
Abstract: The apparatus comprises a saw blade holder (24), a grinding slide (30) which carries a profiled grinding wheel (38) and is movable to and fro in a strokewise manner with respect to the saw blade holder (24), and a feed slide (40) by means of which a saw blade (10) in the saw blade holder (24) can be advanced in a stepwise manner. A dressing template (50) is arranged at the apparatus in a normally inoperative position and can be moved in intervals into an operative position in which the grinding wheel (38) is dressed by plunging into the dressing template (50). The feed slide (40) can be put out of operation during the dressing intervals. The stroke of the grinding slide (30) is adjustable prior to the next plunging motion into the saw blade (10) corresponding to the radius decrease of the grinding wheel (38) effected by dressing. This simplifies the dressing operation of the grinding wheel (38) and shortens the time required for each dressing operation.

  • Patent number: 5931057
Abstract: A machine table (16) on which a saw blade (10) is movable in a direction of movement (A) which essentially conforms to the longitudinal extension of the saw blade is provided with a first measuring station (22) for measuring the saw blade (10) in a measuring plane (B) perpendicular to the direction of movement (A) thereof. The machine table (16) furthermore supports a second measuring station (28) for scanning an edge (14) of the saw blade (10) in the plane thereof transversely of the direction of movement (A) as well as a rolling station (26) which comprises first and second rollers (34, 36) for changing the tension profile of the saw blade (10) and the curvature of the edge (14) thereof. The second roller (36) is pivotably adjustable with respect to the first roller (34) about a pivot axis (C) which intersects the axes of rotation (D1, D2) of the two rollers (34, 36) approximately at right angles and thereby adapted to be positioned obliquely for correcting distortions of the saw blade (10).

  • Patent number: 5319885
Abstract: The machine comprises a retainer member (28) for a saw blade (10) to be plugged on as well as two machining stations located diametrically opposite each other with respect to the retainer member (28). A grinding device (38, 58) each is disposed at the two machining stations. • Patent number: 5295417
Abstract: A saw blade (10) is moved stepwise for complementary finishing operations through a first station (20) and a second station (40) and is stopped whenever a tooth (12) has reached a desired position at the first station (20). Finishing of a second tooth at the second station (40) simultaneously with the finishing of the tooth at the first station is prepared in that the position of the second tooth is determined, which position depends on tooth pitch errors, and a finishing device (60) is moved into a corresponding position for work.

  • Patent number: 5101879
Abstract: Around a tooth, a molding cavity is formed which is closed at the tooth face and tooth flanks and in which the mold material forms a dome due to its surface tension. Said dome is flattened prior to the solidification of the material for approximation to the intended profile of the tooth back by exerting a pressure on the dome which pressure is moved progressively in the direction towards the tooth tip. When the hard material is melted with a gas or plasma jet the latter can be moved after the melting of the hard material in the direction towards the tooth tip over the dome. The gas jet is used to smooth the material after a first heating torch is used to melt the material.

  • Patent number: 4858392
Abstract: A flap (14) is mounted on a machine frame (10) for movement to and fro between an open position and a closure position. Opposite a first clamping jaw (22) supported on the machine frame (10) there is a second clamping jaw (24) supported on the flap (14) in order in the clamped position thereof to clamp a saw blade (30) between said second jaw (24) and the first clamping jaw (22). A locking member (48) movable to and fro between a disengaged position and an engaged position permits in its disengaged position opening of the flap (14) and in its engaged position secures the flap (14) in the closure position thereof. The locking member (48) is mounted on the flap (14) and adapted to engage behind a support body (56) disposed on the machine frame (10). A grip (42) for moving the locking member (48) is mounted likewise on the flap (14) for movement to and fro between a rest position and an actuating position.

  • Patent number: 4677882
Abstract: A saw blade supported on a slip-on arbor has a pitch which is greater than the maximum possible stroke of the feeding means. For this reason each individual tooth of the saw blade is pushed in two successive forward strokes, first into an intermediate position by a secondary pawl and then into a working position by a principal pawl. During the advance caused by the secondary pawl the latter is supported at a stop which is formed at a drag lever. The drag lever is pivotable about the slip-on arbor and comprises a guide engaged by a pin. The stop thus moves back and forth on a circular arc about the slip-on arbor causing the secondary pawl to engage a certain location of the tooth face of a tooth it is advancing.

  • Patent number: 4584852
Abstract: A compound needle for a knitting machine has a machine shank of substantially rectangular cross section, in which a substantially U-shaped longitudinal groove open at the top is formed. A closing slider adapted to fit the cross section of the groove is guided in the groove in a longitudinally slidable manner, and the groove has at least one slit leading to the outside, which extends parallel to the longitudinal axis of the groove. In order to attain satisfactory removal of fluff or lint from the longitudinal groove, on the one hand, and to assure sufficient stability and resistance to transverse bending of the needle on the other, the longitudinal groove is closed on its top, at least partially, in the vicinity of the recess by means of a rib which also forms a guide for the slider.

  • Patent number: 4499794
Abstract: An apparatus for machining circular saw blades and more particularly to the transport means for conveying workpieces to the machining stations of the apparatus. In accordance with the invention, the storage capability of the apparatus is accomplished by subdividing the conveying means into a work path leading through the machining stations; a return path leading through a feeding and discharging station; two branch paths wherein an endless conveyor is arranged only along the work path and associated with the branch paths there are shifting means capable of shifting a work piece carriage from the branch path to the return path; and that on the return path, work piece carriages are maintained at smaller distances than those of the endless conveyor whereby the storage capacity of the apparatus is increased. The apparatus is also adjustable to feed a plurality of different saw diameters for machining.
