  • Publication number: 20100039895
Abstract: Methods and systems for detecting changes of a fluid in a subterranean reservoir, wherein at several points in time, data are collected with the aid of a passive method in which low-frequency acoustic signals are passively measured by means of acoustic sensors. Changes in the fluid can be monitored in a simple and cost efficient way when these data are overlaid with static 3D data, which were collected with the aid of a reflection-seismic method so that a time-related representation of the change of the fluid is possible.

  • Patent number: 7356410
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the detection and exploration of subterranean hydrocarbon deposits by receivers of acoustic waves in a frequency range from 0.2-30 Hz arranged at or near the surface, whereby, according to the invention, acoustic signals are recorded for a period of time T, subjected to a frequency analysis in time windows shifted by a period of time ?t, according to which each time window is subdivided into frequency channels and at least two frequency groups and then the amplitude values of the frequency channels of the frequency groups are correlated and the time deviation ? is determined for the first peak of the correlation function that is unequal to zero, and the ratio of the variation of the amplitude values of the peaks of the frequency groups from one time window to at least one other is determined for this time deviation ? and used to derive the magnitude of the hydrocarbon deposit, and the depth is calculated from the time deviation ?.

  • Patent number: 6473695
Abstract: A method for detecting and identifying a type and geometric dimensions of hydrocarbon deposits and other underground fluid deposits. Sensors are used to measure anomalies caused by a deposit in a natural earth frequency spectrum. Different frequencies are filtered out and analyzed, for respective deposits. Amplitudes of maxima are separately evaluated, corresponding to separately measured frequencies. Amplitude values of the maxima are placed into correlation with each other and measuring points are determined.
