    Abstract: Pyrotechnic signaling means (10) are ignited manually by pulling on a pulling member (24). In known pyrotechnic signaling means (10), the pulling member (24) has a short cable which is knotted to an operating means (26). A knot such as this can be produced only manually, thus making the production of pyrotechnic signaling means (10) quite complex. In addition, an ignition device (14) for known pyrotechnic signaling means (10) has a hole through it for a firing bolt (36) which is connected to the pulling member (24). This allows moisture to enter the pyrotechnic signaling means (10) through the ignition device (14). The pyrotechnic signaling means (10) according to the invention provides for the pulling member (24) to be formed from flexible strip-like sections (48, 50), which are connected by film hinges (54) and can be collapsed, saving space, when not in use.

    Abstract: Shots and hits are simulated with pyrotechnic indicator means e.g. in military maneuvers. For this purpose, devices are used which are designed for accommodating a plurality of pyrotechnic indicator means (15) . Each indicator means (15) can individually be ignited electrically. To this end, an ignition device is provided which has ignition connectors (16) leading to the ignition contacts of each indicator means (15). In known devices of this type making a contact between the indicator means (15) and the ignition connectors (16) requires relative high expenditure of time. Furthermore, faulty connections cannot be excluded. As a result, reloading the device becomes time-consuming and unreliable.The device according to the invention provides that either each ignition connector (16) or each indicator means (15) is provided with at least one annular circumferential contact.

    Abstract: A device for simulating hits on a target for example in war games and particularly for simulating hits on armored vehicles comprises a housing which has a plurality of separate spaced apart charge receiving chambers therein. Each chamber contains a distinct charge preferably including but not limited to a so-called fireball type of charge, a smoke type charge and a report type charge. The charges are arranged in separate cups or compartments and the first charge is connected to an igniter which may for example be an ignition system which is set off by an external pulse of light. The other charges are connected to the first charge and to each other through pyrotechnical propagation charges which may or may not have a delay operation so that they are set off in a controlled sequence.
