  • Patent number: 4149512
Abstract: An internal combustion engine having a sound-deadening shroud surrounding the engine block and connected to latter with the interposition of anti-vibration means. An exhaust plant through which combustion gases are connected is arranged external of the shroud and connected to the engine block. A separate enclosure is secured to the shroud and encloses the exhaust plant leaving a small air gap on all sides between the exhaust plant and the enclosure with only the exhaust pipe of the exhaust plant projecting from the enclosure through an opening.

  • Patent number: 4142503
Abstract: A signal indicating device for an internal combustion engine. The internal combustion engine has a sound absorbing shell surrounding the engine body. An air intake pipe is mounted on the engine and an air intake filter is mounted on the inlet end of the air intake pipe. The signalling device is provided to indicate the degree of contamination of the air filter. The signaling device can be a visual signal or an audible signal.

  • Patent number: 4141422
Abstract: A vehicle having a front axle wherein the axle is divided into halves with each half being pivotally supported on a common pivot pin. The pivot pin is mounted at one end to the driving engine and at the other end to a plate which is supported in position by a pair of rod-shaped force transmitting members which are connected to and supported from the driving engine. The force transmitting members effect a reduction in the magnitude of the forces applied to the pivot pin so that the housing structure for the driving engine can be reduced in size and weight.

  • Patent number: 4141334
Abstract: A sound absorbing arrangement for an internal combustion engine having sound absorbing panels encasing the internal combustion engine. Cooling air is drawn in through openings in the paneling to subject the external surface of the engine body to the cooling air. The panels are lined with a sound absorbing material. The sound emitted from the air filter is muffled by arranging the air intake thereto so that it passes first in and around the engine and then through an intake pipe from the chamber defined by the paneling into the air filter.

  • Patent number: 4077383
Abstract: An internal combustion engine having the cylinders thereof arranged in a V-formation and having a sound deadening material jacketing the body of the engine. Two plate-like carriers are gripped between the confronting parts of the cylinder housing and the outwardly projecting rims thereof to constitute a frame which surrounds the engine body from all sides. A plurality of deadening shells conforming to the shape of the engine body bear in sealed fashion against the frame with the interposition of at least one vibration deadening insert. These shells are secured to the body of the engine with the intermediary of spacer elements providing a vibration dampening support.

  • Patent number: 4064853
Abstract: An internal combustion engine having an arrangement for compensating for the pressure in the crankcase of the engine. The arrangement includes a control valve which is arranged so that it is exposed on the one hand to the pressure in the crankcase and on the other hand to the pressure prevailing in an operating chamber which is separate from the connection conduit between the crankcase and the suction pipe and communicates with the atmosphere through an auxiliary conduit.
