  • Patent number: 6209755
Abstract: The inventive device for squeezing out flowable material includes an elongate tubular bag (1) containing the material, as well as an ejection device (2, 5) which has a cylindrical chamber (10) with a plunger (5) located therein and an outflow opening (9) to insert the bag therein. The bag has an opening (8) at one end surrounded by the bag (1) shoulder (12) and the sealing washer (13). For improved sealing, the sealing member (15, 17, 19, 22, 25) engages the chamber fore-part (11) surrounding the outflow opening (9). Additional parts may be provided to maintain said sealing member on the fore-part.

  • Patent number: 6206244
Abstract: The inventive device for squeezing flowable material includes a tubular bag containing the material, as well as an injection device . The tubular bag is inserted into a cylindrical chamber of the ejection device. Its open end is located inside an outflow opening of said device. The tubular bag is clamped to the fore-part with a sealing washer, the clamping member of which cooperates exclusively with the outflow opening edge formed by the fore-part.

  • Patent number: 5800169
Abstract: A supply and metering syringe for viscous dental compounds, having a syringe body which contains a piston and opens out in a delivery opening. The delivery opening adjoins the syringe body without a constriction. As a result, a separation of the compound components in the surface region of the emerging strand is prevented. The diameter of the syringe body preferably widens toward the delivery opening.

  • Patent number: 5782633
Abstract: Applicator for a dental compound, whose elongate implement body (1, 2) is or can be connected at the front end (3) to a syringe (4) containing the dental compound and has a ram (5) for advancing a plunger contained in the syringe (4), which plunger can be pushed forward by means of a pusher rod (10) protruding out of the rear end of the implement body (1). To avoid the stick-slip effect, the ram and the pusher rod (10) are each connected to a rack (6, 9), between which racks a gearwheel/pinion pair is arranged, which brings about a gear reduction from the pusher rod to the ram.

  • Patent number: 5626473
Abstract: A dental compound applicator, having a shaft (1) that can be gripped in pencil-hold fashion, the front end of which can be connected to a syringe (4) containing the dental compound and a plunger, and containing a piston (6) for driving forward the plunger, which piston is connected to an actuation device (10) in that region of the shaft where a fingertip is located when gripping in pencil-hold fashion. The actuation device (10) comprises a toothed wheel which is mounted on the shaft, can be rotated by the fingertip and engages in a rack provided on the piston (6). The toothed wheel can consist of a larger grip wheel to be actuated using the finger, and a smaller pinion, cooperating with the rack, so that gearing down results.

  • Patent number: 5376691
Abstract: The invention describes a material for making temporary crowns and bridges that comprises two pastes and can be mixed in a static mixer/application in one cycle without the incorporation of bubbles, and can be easily pressed out. The polymers produced from this are aesthetically pleasing and remarkably break-resistant. Their polymerization-related shrinkage proves to be extremely low. Their radiopaqueness meets clinical requirements.

  • Patent number: 5088830
Abstract: Arrangement for operating a multi-component mixing capsule, in particular for dental purposes, by means of a vibratory mixing device, to activate the capsule and to mix the contents of the capsule. The mixing capsule contains a mixing space and a chamber to receive a foil sachet containing a liquid component. The chamber is delimited by two walls, one of which can be moved towards the other to activate the capsule, that is to empty the foil sachet in the mixing space. This takes place according to the invention by means of a first striking body, which as a result of mixing vibration is accelerated against the chamber wall.

  • Patent number: 4952209
Abstract: Applicator syringe for a dental compound, with a syringe body (1) tapering into a thin discharge tube (3) and with a piston (5) displaceable in it, the applicator syringe being intended for once-only use. To avoid the need for special actuating tools, but make easy use possible, the effective cross-sectional surface is very small, in particular with a ratio of the useful stroke to the diameter of the syringe piston of at least approximately 10. So that the syringe can nevertheless be filled easily, the diameter of the cylindrical space in the rear portion of the latter is larger than the piston diameter. The syringe body (1) is first produced in a straight form and only thereafter is the discharge tube (3) bent.

  • Patent number: 4941751
Abstract: Multi-component mixing capsule having an ejection device, in particular for dental purposes. A receptacle part (1) forming a mixing chamber (5) contains a piston (2) which for its part comprises an accommodation chamber (31) for a film container (32) and a ram (3). To enable the ram (3) to be pushed forward inside the piston (2) in order to transfer the film container contents into the mixing chamber (5) without the piston (2) being displaced in the receptacle part (1), the piston (2) is provided on a portion protruding rearwards beyond the receptacle part (1) with a radial projection which is supported on the tool or on the rearward end face (17) of the receptacle part (1). Support ends as soon as the ram (3) has travelled the necessary distance in the piston (2) to empty the film container (32). For this purpose, the projection (22) may have the ability to be torn off from the piston or bent inwards.

  • Patent number: 4732302
Abstract: A cartridge (1) contains dental material and at one end has a discharge nozzle (2) and at the other end is connected fixedly in terms of rotation to a nut (3) having an internal thread. A plunger is disposed at the end of a spindle ( 4) in the cartridge, for ejecting the dental material from the nozzle (2). A handle (6) is connected fixedly in terms of rotation to the spindle. The handle (6) and grip part (8) thereof are grasped in the lower portion of the hand, while the thumb and forefinger rotate the cartridge relative to the spindle to discharge the material.

  • Patent number: 4715813
Abstract: Method of determining materials of suitable colours for the base and top layers of a tooth repair layer or prosthesis facet with the aid of colour samples composed of a plurality of layers. Separate samples are used for the base and top layers. They are optically connected by wetting with a liquid. The liquid may also itself be used to form one of the sample layers.
