  • Patent number: 6604612
Abstract: A vibration damper for a hydraulic motor vehicle brake installation is provided with a membrane facing the hydraulic medium transferring the braking force which, with its edge region, is finally attached to a carrier element functioning especially as a brake piston in the brake saddle of a motor vehicle brake. The membranes can move at least slightly toward the carrier element or away from this in its central region, whereby the membrane together with a further membrane form a membrane unit. The two membranes are arranged basically one over the other, lie tightly one upon the other, and enclose between themselves a hollow space in the central region within this edge region. Preferably, the membrane facing the carrier element is set at a distance apart from the fastening section of the membrane unit and from the surface of the carrier element so that the space between the surface of the carrier element and the facing membrane stands in fluid connection with the hydraulic medium.

  • Publication number: 20020157906
Abstract: The invention relates to a vibration damper for a hydraulic vehicle brake system with a diaphragm facing the hydraulic fluid that transmits the braking force and being fastened to a carrier device by its edge in such manner that it is able to move toward the carrier device or away from it at least slightly in its center area. Based on the invention, the hollow chamber between the diaphragm and the carrier device, which is required for the movement of the diaphragm, has been largely evacuated. The stiffness of the diaphragm is preferably selected in such a manner that the diaphragm rests completely against the surface of the carrier device facing toward it at a pressure of the hydraulic fluid in the range of 25 bar and more. In some areas, the diaphragm can have a wave-shape cross-sectional design as can the surface of the carrier device facing toward the diaphragm.

  • Patent number: 5602425
Abstract: The invention provides a seat-occupancy-detection device in a motor vehicle, by means of which seat functions can be actuated dependent on the load acting on the seat, which device is configured such that it can be utilized and implemented in a more versatile manner. By using a data bus in the vehicle, which provides the functions connected to the data bus with items of information throughout the vehicle, the area around a seating position is automatically adapted based on seat occupancy.
