  • Publication number: 20120216843
Abstract: A UV disinfection system for waste water and drinking water, including a number of UV radiators arranged in cladding tubes and a cleaning device for the cladding tubes. The cladding tubes are configured essentially symmetrically to a longitudinal axis. The cleaning device for the cladding tubes includes (a) at least one cleaning ring for each cladding tube, which surround the cladding tube, (b) at least one drive for driving the cleaning ring in the direction of the axis, wherein the at least one cleaning ring is disposed at a distance (d) from the surface of the cladding tube, (c) openings directed in the cleaning ring towards the cladding tube, and (d) a supply of pressurised liquid under high pressure into the openings so that the pressurised liquid is directed as a cleaning jet onto the surface of the cladding tube.

  • Publication number: 20110237842
Abstract: An ultraviolet (UV) reactor for carrying out chemical reactions in a pumpable medium by means of UV. The pumpable medium may also be, where appropriate, a multi-phase medium. The UV reactor has a reactor chamber through which the medium can flow In a direction of flow from an inlet to an outlet. The reactor chamber is penetrated by a number of UV transparent jacket tubes, which are arranged one behind the other in the direction of flow. UV emitters are arranged within the jacket tubes for emitting UV radiation into the reactor chamber. The jacket tubes are arranged one behind the other and are interlocked against one another at an angle ?in the circumferential direction of the reactor chamber.

  • Publication number: 20110214825
Abstract: A method for treating mechanical pulp. Resinous mechanical pulp is brought into process in a process water flow. The resinous pulp is ozonated at a temperature between 80 and 87° C. and at pH less than 4. The pH of the pulp is adjusted after the ozonation process to correspond to the pH required in bleaching. The pulp is bleached.

  • Publication number: 20110036523
Abstract: A method for manufacturing mechanical pulp. Raw material of the mechanical pulp is introduced. The raw material is refined in a first refining stage to form the mechanical pulp. The pH of the mechanical pulp is adjusted to between 9 and 11 in a process step in which a first process delay is arranged. The first process delay is at least 0.5 hours. The mechanical pulp is sorted into a first accepted stock and a first rejected stock. The first rejected stock is ozonated. The pH of the first rejected stock is at the start of the ozonation process is between 9 and 11. The ozonated first rejected stock is refined in a second refining stage so that at least a part of the ozonated first rejected stock will belong to a second accepted stock. The first accepted stock and the second accepted stock are combined. The mechanical pulp may be used.

  • Patent number: 7560080
Abstract: A method for generating ozone from gases containing oxygen. The ozone is generated by silent electric discharge in an installation comprising at least two gaps, which are traversed by the gas, each of said gaps being formed between an electrode and a dielectric that separates each gap from an additional electrode. According to the invention, the restriction of the volumetric flow of the gas of at least one gap is controlled.
