    Abstract: A multiwired print head having an elongated conical center member with wire guiding sections formed thereon and with a plurality of recessed portions for minimizing the surface contact area between the print wire and the elongated member. In addition, the elongated member mounted within a frame having actuators operating therewith for imparting axial motion to the print wires and having wire bridge supports for supporting the elongated conical member to the frame at positions corresponding to the raised portions of the conical member which bridge members act to retain the print wires in their recessed notches.

    Abstract: A mold having a desired print head shape includes a cover in which a plurality of rods or ductile fibers are attached, the cover being positioned with the rods extending into the mold and to the side opposite the cover. A hardenable synthetic material is introduced through a hole in the cover and after hardening of the material to form the print head, the rods are withdrawn from the mold to leave bores or apertures in the print head which serve as passageways for the droplets of ink.

    Abstract: A media positioning means for a printer having first and second transport mechanisms which are positioned in opposed relation with each other to form a common throat therebetween. Each of the first and second transport mechanisms includes first and second endless belts, a cross bar whose ends are secured to the belts, and grippers mounted on the cross bar to enable first and second record media inserted in the throat to be individually gripped thereby and positioned in side by side or overlapping relationship with regard to a print line in the printer.
