  • Publication number: 20120241393
Abstract: A support system for a scanner comprises a frame and a drum. The drum is made of tempered steel and is mounted on the frame by a roller system. The roller system comprises rollers of hardened steel, or having roller surfaces of hardened steel, that allow the drum to rotate about a rotationally symmetrical axis of the drum. A radiation source and one or more detectors can be secured to the drum for a scanner. Because that the drum is made of tempered steel and the rollers have surfaces of hardened steel, the drum can rotate at a high speed without increasing vibrations, thus allowing examination times of the scanner to be short and preventing vibration-related background signals. Also, noise occurring during use of the scanner is reduced.

  • Patent number: 4837998
Abstract: A cover rail corner connection for connecting rod fittings is given a construction which ensures the three dimensional unity of two fitting components extending approximately at right angle to one another during the carrying out of the impact operations at the wing or frame of a window. A double hook 21 having an approximately C-shaped cross sectional configuration at the end of the one cover rail 5 carries a projection (31) for this purpose at each of the mutually facing ends of its side flanks 27, each projection facing away from the cover rail 5 which carries it. The edge of each projection 31 facing the limit tang 28 of the double hook 21 has a spacing from the limit tank 28 which corresponds to the thickness of the other cover rail, which carries an approximately T-shaped double hook 20. The projections 31 form effective stops in opposition to the limit tang 28 which supportingly undercut the end of the cover rail 4 carrying the approximately T-shaped double hook 20 at its transverse edges 24.

  • Patent number: 4599487
Abstract: A gland which is installed in the hole of a wall between two different atmospheres to prevent the leakage of a fluid from the one side to the other side of the wall along the outer sheath of an electric cable has a tubular metallic housing which is sealingly installed in the hole and into which the cable extends. The interior of the housing is filled with a hardened filler material which completely surrounds bare portions of conductors. Beads are formed on such bare portions. Sleeves are shrunk onto the bare portions of the conductors between the respective beads and insulators for the conductors. A tension reducing clamp surrounds the outer sheath of the cable in the housing. The aperture at one end of the housing contains an O-ring which is biased against the external surface of the outer sheath of the cable and against the surface surrounding the aperture by a second ring.

  • Patent number: 4223928
Abstract: Latch lock hardware for a window having a latch-lug that is insertable into a latch pocket in the casing for tilting purposes. The latch lock hardware comprises a pair of vertically-spaced cams located on the casing above the latch-pocket and a pair of vertically-spaced elements mounted on the window. The upper element is located beneath the upper cam to prevent removal of the window for a small tilting angle of the window and the lower element is located beneath the lower cam to prevent removal of the window for a relatively larger tilting angle of the window.

  • Patent number: 4208838
Abstract: Latch hardware including drive rod fittings in which at least two profile grooves are undercut at an angle to one another within the frame shanks and drive rods are positioned, guided, and coupled to a corner guide. The profile grooves within the frame shanks are arranged stepwise and are of a depth which is larger than the thickness of the drive rods. In addition, the angled housing for the corner guide has at least one shank which is pushed on safety sleeves on molded edge stems in which may also be fixedly positioned parts which serve to guide the driving rod.

  • Patent number: 4104551
Abstract: An explosion-proof canned electric motor for use at elevated temperatures wherein the upper portion of the motor housing contains the stator windings and the rotor and is connected with a terminal box by means of a tubular heat barrier. The terminal box is disposed at a level below the upper housing portion and has an annular venting orifice in the lowermost part thereof so that condensate which accumulates in the housing flows toward the orifice. Such condensate is absorbed by a cake of diatomaceous earth or another suitable porous desiccant which is placed into the path of condensate flow toward the orifice. The desiccant also removes moisture from air which flows into the terminal box, and the desiccant is relieved of accumulated moisture during starting of the motor when the air in the housing expands as a result of heating and flows through the pores of the desiccant on its way into the orifice.

  • Patent number: 4002360
Abstract: Window hardware for driving a latch rod, especially for insertion in the edge of casement windows, doors, etc., wherein the back side is fastened on a track, consisting of a drive housing having two housing parts in which is positioned a turnable member which can have the shape of a pinion, the turnable member engaging the latch rod fitting which extends through a guide canal in the drive housing and is guided and movable longitudinally on the inverted track.
