Abstract: A veterinary pharmaceutical formulation containing meloxicam or a pharmacologically acceptable meloxicam salt of an organic or inorganic base and one or more vehicles having analgesic efficacy for the treatment of inflammatory painful diseases, particularly for the treatment of mild or moderate mastitis cases. The treatment leads to an effective long lasting reduction of a hypersensitive state associated with inflammatory pain in mild or moderate mastitis cases, particularly chronic states thereof.

Abstract: Certain extracts of plants from the genera Leptospernum and Melaleuca can be used in the treatment of both mastitis and metritis to effectively reduce the amount of antibiotic employed, which extracts contain terpene.

Abstract: An antibacterial substance which does not have optimum absorbability and is administered parentally into tissue, is administered to a host in conjunction with a benzylamine derivative of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is hydroxyl in the 2- or 4-position or amino in the 2-position;R.sub.2 is hydrogen or alkyl of 1 to 3 carbon atoms; andR.sub.3 is cyclohexyl optionally substituted by hydroxyl;or a non-toxic, pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof, to improve the absorption of the parenterally administered antibacterial substance.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method of improving the resorption of injected antibacterially active substances or combinations. More specifically, this invention relates to a method of increasing the resorption of an antibacterially active substance or combination which does not have optimum resorbability and which is administered parenterally into tissue, which comprises administering to a host at least one benzylamine derivative of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is a hydroxyl group in the 2- or 4-position or an amino group in the 2-position;R.sub.2 is a hydrogen atom or an alkyl group having from 1 to 3 carbon atoms; andR.sub.3 is a cyclohexyl group optionally substituted by a hydroxyl group,or a non-toxic, pharmacologically acceptable acid addition salt thereof with an inorganic or organic acid, in conjunction with said antibacterially active substance or combination.
