    Abstract: A computer implemented method of marketing an electricity distribution and transmission substation to a customer by a substation vendor. The method includes collecting functional information relating to intended use and location of the substation. The method also includes identifying at least one substation configuration from a database of plural substation configurations, where the identified substation configurations have at least some suitability for satisfying the collected functional information. The identification is made by an expert system that matches the functional information with predetermined characteristics of each of the plural substation configurations.
