  • Patent number: 6140401
Abstract: The invention concerns the use of a stabilizer combination for polyvinylchloride-based moulding compounds. The stabilizer combination contains (a) at least one solid inorganic component in amounts ranging from 0.3 to 3 parts by weight, relative to 100 parts by weight of polyvinylchloride, selected from sodium aluminosilicates, hydrotalcites and calcium-aluminium-hydroxy-phosphites, and (b) at least one solid or liquid zinc salt in amounts corresponding to a zinc to component (a) ratio of from 0.02 to 0.25 to 1, selected from zinc salts of monocarboxylic acids, substituted or unsubstituted benzoic acid and dicarboxylic acids. This stabilizer combination is used in the production of half-hard and soft polyvinylchloride foils by the calendering process in order to prevent a build-up of coating on the rollers used in this process.

  • Patent number: 4962145
Abstract: Partial esters of saturated, linear C.sub.22 -C.sub.34 -monocarboxylic acids with polyols containing at least 3 carbon atoms and at least 2 hydroxyl groups are provided. The partial esters contain on average at least 1 free hydroxyl group and are generally obtained as mixtures of partial esters of at least 2 of said C.sub.22 -C.sub.34 -monocaroxylic acids. Particularly contemplated are partial esters based on montanic acids. The partial esters exhibit excellent release effects and transparency properties when used as release agents for plastics based on PVC or PVC copolymers.
