  • Patent number: 6062072
Abstract: A device for monitoring the air pressure of pneumatic tires of vehicles having a pressure measuring system arranged on the vehicle wheel, the measured values of which are transmitted by means of a transmitter to a receiver, whereby each vehicle wheel is preferably associated with a receiver. The transmitters have a transmitting antenna which is fixed in relation to the wheel and is not integrated into the transmitter. The transmitter is preferably an antenna with several windings which are vulcanized in the side flanks or into the tread of the tire.

  • Patent number: 5806514
Abstract: Device for and method of dive monitoring, wherein the pressure in a diving flask of a breathing equipment and the ambient pressure which the diver is exposed to at the respective water depth are detected. A decompression computing means is used to determine the respective decompression stops which the diver has to observe in surfacing, and how much time surfacing will require altogether. A performance index is derived from the variation of the pressure versus time in the diving flask, which index is a measure of the physical work performed by the diver. This performance index is supplied to the decompression computing means and is considered in the calculation of the total surfacing period.

  • Patent number: 5602524
Abstract: A device for monitoring the air pressure in pneumatic tires comprises a transmitting device fitted to each wheel of a vehicle and rotating with it, and a receiver which is built into the vehicle or accommodated in a separate housing. The transmitting device mounted in the wheel comprises a pressure gauge for measuring the tire pressure, a transmitter and a signal generator which generates an identification signal unique to each transmitter and transmitted before or after the pressure signal. The receiver processes received signals only when the identification signal received matches a reference identification signal stored in the receiver. This facilitates reliable operation of the monitoring device and prevents false alarms.

  • Patent number: 4827781
Abstract: A method and apparatus for extracting a fiber sample from a sliver of material for fiber length measurement in which the sliver is successively advanced into and retained by needles in a sample extracting position with the fiber end of the sliver exposed for sampling. The end is then grasped by a clamping member which moves away from the retained sliver to extract the sample. The retention of the sliver is synchronized to follow the advancement of the sliver to its sample extracting position and the movement of the clamping member is synchronized to occur during the retention of the sliver by the needles in this sample extraction position.
