  • Patent number: 5935494
Abstract: An injection-molding machine for plastic, including an injection cylinder, a screw arranged in the injection cylinder and having a drive shaft, an electric motor, a mechanical rotary drive for connecting the electric motor to the drive shaft so that rotary motion is imparted to the drive shaft, and a linear drive for connecting the electric motor to the drive shaft so that linear motion is imparted to the drive shaft. The linear drive includes a pressure medium pump connected to the electric motor, and at least one synchronous piston-cylinder unit connected to the drive shaft and in fluid communication with the pump. A control unit is connected to the pump for controlling one of pump and motor absorption level. Hydraulic lines are configured and arranged to directly connect an input of the synchronous cylinder with an output of the pump and an output of the synchronous cylinder with an input of the pump in a closed hydraulic circuit.

  • Patent number: 5714176
Abstract: A plastics injection molding machine having a screw which is arranged in an injection cylinder and is moved by a linear drive and a rotary drive such that it is driven by only one motor. The driving motor is a servo motor and the linear drive is a piston-cylinder unit which is moved by a hydraulic pump which is connected with the driving motor and is in a closed hydraulic circuit. The screw has a drive shaft which is acted upon by the rotary drive connected to the driving motor. The rotary drive has a hydraulic drive with a motor which has a driven motor shaft corresponding to a piston rod. The motor is connected with the forward-flow line via a feed line and an outlet line. A releasable check valve, which is controllable by a two-way directional control valve, is provided in the forward-flow line.

  • Patent number: 5362227
Abstract: An injection molding machine includes a screw unit provided with a drive and mounted through a carrier on a base frame. The screw unit can be connected to a tool clamping plate in a frictionally engaging manner. The carrier includes a carriage which can be moved on the base frame by at least one moving unit fastened on the tool clamping plate. The carriage has a front carriage portion with at least one recess provided in the front carriage portion. A yoke provided at the opening side of the housing part can be placed in a positively engaging manner into the recess. The rear housing part of the plasticizing unit is connectable through support and centering elements to an undercarriage which is slidable on the base frame.

  • Patent number: 5178888
Abstract: A device for closing molds of an injection molding machine for plastic which includes a stationary end plate and a mold clamping plate displaceable on traverses. The stationary end plate is connected to the clamping plate by a toggle mechanism having a double toggle lever. The double toggle lever is actuatable by at least two drive units arranged between the end plate and the mold clamping plate, parallel to a main axis of the machine.

  • Patent number: 5093052
Abstract: An injection molding machine for manufacturing plastic moldings contains a plurality of hydraulic loads for individual subassemblies including a closing unit, an injection unit, an ejector and cores. A plurality of the pumps are respectively connected to the hydraulic loads. At least one alternating-current servomotor is provided for driving the pumps. In a method of controlling hydraulic drives of the foregoing machine, the measured value of a subassembly is detected and compared with a desired value; any deviation detected thereby is converted into a desired velocity value. The speed of rotation of an associated motor is then adjusted, via a servodrive module, in response to the mentioned desired velocity value.

  • Patent number: 5020914
Abstract: A process for removing the screw from the screw cylinder of a screw-type injection molding machine and a screw-type injection molding machine of a corresponding configuration, having a base frame for receiving an injection unit which comprises a screw cylinder (1), a screw which is rotatable and axially displaceable in the screw cylinder and a drive device (2) for the screw, which is arranged axially behind the screw cylinder. The screw cylinder (1) is releasably connected to the drive device (2) and is pivotable, independently of the drive device (2), about a pivot axis (6) which extends vertically at a spacing in front of its rear end. The screw cylinder (1) and/or the drive device (2) are arranged to be movable separately from each other on the injection molding machine in the axial direction of the injection unit in order for the rear end of the screw to be pulled out of the drive device (2) after the connection has been released.
