  • Patent number: 10990771
Abstract: A system for storing and monitoring grain includes a grain bin for storing grain and a plurality of sensor cables suspended within the grain bin, the sensor cables comprising sensors for sensing one or both of the temperature and humidity of the grain. The system further includes a mobile device for reading codes on each of the sensor cables, wherein the mobile device assigns a cable location inside the grain bin to each of the sensor cables. In a manual setup, the mobile device displays a representation of a cable configuration, displays a request to connect the sensor cables in indicated locations and then assigns the cable locations to each sensor cable.

  • Publication number: 20180372406
Abstract: A sensor cable for measuring moisture inside a grain bin includes a moisture sensor connected to a moisture sensor wire and a pair of holes in the sensor cable. The holes are associated with the moisture sensor to enable the moisture sensor to sense moisture via both of the holes. In one implementation, a moisture sensor is connected to a 3-wire interface having separate power and data wires, thereby increasing the read speed. In one implementation, the moisture sensor is encapsulated within a node that is flush with the sensor cable to minimize load on the sensor cable from the surrounding grain.

  • Publication number: 20070289511
Abstract: A method is described for cutting sub-surface cavities into a region of soil and for delivering liquid fertilizer directly to each cavity while minimizing overflow or spillage of liquid fertilizer onto the surrounding surface soil. A cutting apparatus is described for creating sub-surface cavities the soil, each cavity is associated with an opening at the soil surface through which liquid fertilizer can be delivered to the cavity. A system for delivery of liquid fertilizer to the cavities is described, which includes a fertilizer dispenser including a metering valve assembly for delivery of liquid fertilizer to each cavity. A synchronization system may be incorporated into the system for locating each cavity and directing the dispensing of liquid fertilizer.
