Abstract: The invention relates to a lighting device for a signal light of a motor vehicle, generating increased light propagation in a light guide. To this end, the lighting device comprises a light guide defined by a front face, a light source illuminating a first end of the light guide, and a first mask which is positioned in front of the light source and a part of the front face of the light guide, such that the first mask hides the light source from an observer looking at the front face of the light guide. Advantageously, the front face of the light guide, facing the first mask, is at least partially covered by a separating layer reflecting the light emitted by the light source.
