  • Patent number: 6714855
Abstract: A method for operating an internal combustion engine includes the steps of determining a pressure in a suction portion from a position of a throttle flap, passing a signal produced from the position of the throttle flap through a delay element, using the passed signal for forming a limit for a permissible value region, utilizing as the delay means mechanism at least two delay elements, such that a delay of one of the delay elements is switched off when a speed with which the position of the throttle valve changes lies above a positive limiting value, and the delay of the other delay element is switched off when the speed with which the position of the throttle valve changes lies below a negative limiting value.
