Abstract: A data cable has a specially arranged and embodied shielding foil. The shielding foil surrounds an insulated conductor and has multiple layers, including a conductive layer and at least one carrier layer on which the conductive layer is applied. The shielding foil is folded and has a fold around which the conductive layer is guided so that the conductive layer forms an upper face and a lower face. The shielding foil is wound around the insulated conductor. The shielding foil has multiple sequential windings that overlap in an overlap region in which the upper face in one of the multiple sequential windings makes contact with the lower face of a following one of the multiple sequential windings so as to form a continuous shielding configuration.

  • Publication number: 20170250009
Abstract: A data cable, which is particularly suitable for the automotive industry, is cost-effective to produce and allows high transmission frequencies into the gigahertz range. The data cable has two wire pairs which each have two wires which are surrounded by a pair shield. In addition to the pair shield, a planar or flat shielding element which does not surround the core pairs and makes contact with the two pair shields is arranged between the wires. The shielding element has, in particular, individual wires which run next to one another. Contact can advantageously be made with the pair shield in a plug region in a simple manner by way of the shielding element.

  • Publication number: 20170133128
Abstract: A cable has a wire bundle composed of a number of individual wires and an insulating sheath. The wire bundle is guided along a longitudinal center axis by a shaping element in order to guide and to specify the cross-sectional shape of the wire bundle in a feeding region immediately upstream of an extruder. The shaping element rotates about the longitudinal center axis, and the insulating sheath is subsequently applied to the wire bundle by the extruder.

  • Publication number: 20170062096
Abstract: A cable, especially a data transfer cable, has at least one wire having an inner conductor and a wire sheath which has been applied directly thereto. The wire sheath has a dielectric layer composed of a foamed uncrosslinked thermoplastic polymer, preferably polyethylene or polypropylene, and the dielectric layer is encased by an outer skin layer composed of unfoamed, chemically crosslinked polyethylene. The specific wire sheath leads to a distinct improvement in soldering properties. Additionally specified are a corresponding wire and a production process therefor.

  • Publication number: 20160290876
Abstract: A temperature measurement is performed using a sensor cable. The measuring arrangement has a first signal conductor, a feed unit for feeding a measurement signal into the signal conductor, and an analyzing unit which ascertains and analyzes a change in the signal transit time of the measurement signal as a result of a temperature-induced change in a first temperature-dependent dielectric constant and is configured to derive a temperature signal from the ascertained signal transit time. The first signal conductor together with a second signal conductor forms the sensor cable, and each of the two signal conductors is surrounded by an insulation which is made of a first material that has a first dielectric constant in the first signal conductor and which is made of a second material that is different from the first material and has a second dielectric constant in the case of the second signal conductor.

  • Publication number: 20160268021
Abstract: A data line that is designed as a coaxial cable and has a line core that extends in a line longitudinal direction. The line core has at least one conductor surrounded at least by insulation and is surrounded by a multi-layer shielding foil, which has a non-conductive layer and a conductive layer. In an overlap region, a free end edge overlaps a further partial region, wherein additionally a conductive connection of the conductive layer at the end edge to the further partial region is formed such that a transverse current flow perpendicular to the longitudinal direction within the conductive layer is enabled. The conductive connection is formed optionally as a conductive strip and/or by a beveled end edge. In particular, the data line is a data line shielded exclusively via the shielding foil. The data line is used in particular in a motor-vehicle electrical system.

  • Publication number: 20160142102
Abstract: In order to permit, in a motor vehicle on-board power system, data to be transmitted with low expenditure on cabling, even between multiple partial networks, a plurality of loads embodied, in particular, as sensors is respectively assigned a communication unit for transferring data. The communication units are embodied in such a way that, by utilizing the supply lines they set up a partially interlinked data network, and transfer data made available by the loads, with the result that communication via the partial networks is also made possible. As a result of the transmission of the data via the supply lines in combination with the setting up of a partially interlinked data network, signal transmission is made possible even if there is no direct connection between the respective sensor and a target unit.
