  • Publication number: 20090049556
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method and a device (207) for providing a party (214) with a content item license (202). A basic idea of the present invention is to enable redistribution of, or giving away/gifting of, digital content items while satisfying DRM requirements. Hence, determining means in the form of e.g. a proximity verifier receives authentication data of a first party (213) wishing to give away or redistribute a content item (215). The proximity verifier also receives authentication data of a second party (214) to which the content item is to be transferred. Further, a license (202) associated with the content item and the first party is received at the proximity verifier (207) from the first party. The license may be associated with the first party and the content item by a first party identifier (203) and a content item identifier (204) comprised in the license. The proximity verifier determines whether the first party and the second party are in physical proximity to each other.

  • Publication number: 20070100755
Abstract: When displaying display items representing a set of content items including items protected by a number of different digital rights management systems on the display of a content access system, the set of display items representing the content items includes icons associated at least with the display items for each protected content item. The icons indicate whether a respective content item is protected by a digital rights management system and, if so, which digital rights management system is employed to protect the respective content item, whether an executable digital rights management module for accessing the respective protected content item is accessible to the user, and whether the user is entitled to access the respective protected content item. The icons also serve as user controls either for accessing information regarding acquisition of, or initiating actual acquisition of, the digital rights management module, access rights, or both.

  • Publication number: 20030185418
Abstract: A method and an arrangement are disclosed for embedding supplemental data in an information signal such as a sigma-delta modulated audio signal. The encoded signal includes two or more channels, e.g. a left channel bit stream (z1) and a right channel bit stream (z2). The same supplemental data (w) is accommodated at corresponding predetermined bit positions, e.g. every Mth bit position, of the bit streams. This allows detection and extraction of the supplemental data without the need for accommodating a sync pattern in the signal. At the receiving end, a sequence of Mth bits from the first channel is compared with a corresponding sequence of Mth bits from the second channel. If they are identical, the sequence is a candidate supplemental data sequence. This is done for different sequence positions (m) until the supplemental data has been found.
