  • Publication number: 20040104256
Abstract: A device for drawing a web of material into a machine, such as a printing press includes a draw-in mechanism that can be advanced along a draw-in path, and to which the web of material can be coupled. The draw-in mechanism can be driven by an electric motor that can be regulated or controlled in response to measurement data which is determined during the draw-in process. The motor can be regulated or controlled in synchronism with another unit of the machine, which other unit is mechanically driven independently of the electric motor.

  • Patent number: 6615718
Abstract: A material web to be printed is drawn into a rotary printing press by securing a reinforcement element to a leading end of the material web. The reinforcement element can be enwrapped in the material web or held to the web by suitable catches. An openable and closable loop is formed in the reinforcement element and is used to connect the element to the web draw-in device of the printing press.

  • Publication number: 20030133781
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for conveying at least one supply roll, comprising a roll support surface on which the supply roll can be placed with its longitudinal axis extending essentially horizontally. The supply roll can be rolled out in at least one conveying direction with its lateral surface on said roll support surface. The device has at least one transport element with at least one rotating drive device. The carrying run of said drive device can be brought into contact with the lateral surface of the supply roll from below, directly or indirectly, and can be driven in at least one conveying direction.

  • Patent number: 6269751
Abstract: A length-variable sliding rail element enables a roller chain to be easily guided. Two complementary sliding rail elements fit together. Each of the sliding elements may be comprised of two or three segments. These various segments interengage each other to form a sliding rail element that is shiftable between collapsed and extended position.

  • Patent number: 6155516
Abstract: An intermediate storage facility receives rolls on transport cars. The rolls have previously been prepared, by the application of an adhesive, at a roll preparation station. The prepared rolls, each on its individual transport car, are placed in the intermediate storage facility prior to being withdrawn from the intermediate storage facility for use in a roll changer of a web-fed rotary printing press. The intermediate storage facility is situated before, in the direction of roll transport travel, the roll changer, and after the roll preparation station.

  • Patent number: 6138938
Abstract: An installation is used to load and unload paper rolls in a roll changer of a web-fed rotary printing press. The paper supply rolls and the used paper rolls are supported on transport cars which run on guide tracks. These transport car guide tracks extend to the roll changer from one side of the roll changer.

  • Patent number: 6070534
Abstract: A conveying system for transporting loads utilizes a transport cart that is supported by rollers. The transport cart is supported by the rollers adjacent several serially arranged revolving drives that each have a plurality of spaced recesses. At least one pusher is carried by the cart and engages a recess in the drive. The cart can be halted, if its path is blocked, by disengagement of the pusher from the recess in the drive.

  • Patent number: 6039284
Abstract: A transport car is useable to transport rolls to and from a roll changer in a printing press. The transport car has at least one receiver which extends generally perpendicular to the transport direction in which the transport car moves. A second transport car can be loaded onto the receiver of the first transport car. The transport car can be provided with two such receivers and thus can transport two additional transport cars.
