  • Patent number: 8074358
Abstract: A method for the production of panel-type components having at least three layers of boards disposed parallel to the plane of the component, with the boards being connected to one another without glue by dowels extending substantially transversely to the plane of the component, includes disposing a plurality of layers of boards on top of each other in different orientations, providing a plurality of bores in these boards which penetrate the layers, and pressing dowels into the bores. An especially high strength is achieved by tensioning layers of the boards during drilling and insertion of the dowels, the tensioning including applying compressive forces. Also, the dowels are preferably compacted in a radial direction before insertion in the bores.

  • Publication number: 20100021674
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for the production of panel-type components (1) having at least three layers of boards (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f) disposed parallel to the plane of the component (1), with the boards being connected to one another without glue by dowels (3) extending substantially transversely to the plane of the component (1), with firstly a plurality of layers of boards (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f) being disposed on top of each other in different orientations, a plurality of bores (5) being provided in these boards (b 2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f) which penetrate the layers, and the dowels (3) thereafter being pressed into the bores (5). An especially high strength is achieved in such a way that the layers of the boards (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f), during drilling and insertion of the dowels (3), are tensioned against each other by applying compressive forces and that the dowels (3) are preferably compacted in the radial direction before insertion.

  • Publication number: 20040101649
Abstract: The invention relates to a pre-fabricated laminated wood element comprising at least three layers (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f) of adjacent plank or stanchion-type wooden elements (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e, 3f) that are connected to one another. Said connection is achieved by dowels (4), which penetrate the layers (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f) of wooden elements (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e, 3f), whereby the wooden elements (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e, 3f) of at least two neighbouring layers (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f) run in a different direction. The wooden elements (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e, 3f) on the interior surfaces of the laminated wood element are at least partially profiled, which permits improved thermal insulation.

  • Patent number: 6534143
Abstract: The present invention relates to a prefabricated laminated wood member (1) having at least three interconnected layers (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f) which are made of different kinds of wood (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e, 3f) arranged in the form of immediately adjacent boards or mounts, wherein the different kinds of wood (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e, 3f) in at least two adjacent layers (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f) have different directions. In order to provide a uniform wood structure, the assembly of individual layers (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f) is achieved by using plugs (4) that extend through the layers (2a, 2b, 2c, 2d, 2e, 2f) of wood (3a, 3b, 3c, 3d, 3e, 3f).
