Abstract: A two-component composition for bleaching hair comprising a peroxide oxidation agent, an ammonia-free alkalinization agent and a guanidine derivative of the formula ##STR1## as bleaching accelerator, wherein R is hydrogen, ##STR2## Y is hydrogen, NH.sub.2, or akyl having 1 to 4 carbon atoms, and n is 2 or 3, or an acid addition salt thereof.

Abstract: An aqueous hair dye preparation comprising an oxidation dyestuff combination of a developer component consisting of a tetraaminopyrimidine derivative or a water-soluble acid addition salt thereof and as coupler, at least one of the following:(a) 2,4-diaminophenol(b) 2,4-diamino-3-chlorophenol(c) 2-amino-4-methylphenol(d) 3-amino-2,6-dimethylphenol(e) 2,2',4,4'-tetrahydroxybenzophenone(f) 2,4-diamino-6-methylphenol(g) 3,4-diaminophenetole(h) 1,3-dihydroxy-5-methylaminobenzene(i) 1-hydroxy-7-aminonaphthalene(j) 1-hydroxy-8-aminonaphthalene(k) 1,6-dihydroxynaphthalene(l) 2,7-dihydroxynaphthalene(m) 3,5-dimethoxyphenol,as well as a process for dyeing hair by utilizing this oxidation dyestuff combination.

Abstract: Dyestuffs of the oxidizable developer-coupler type wherein the coupler is a 3,5-diamino-2-substituted-alkylbenzene of the formula ##STR1## wherein R.sub.1 is straight- or branched-chain alkyl of 1-8 carbon atoms, R.sub.2 is a straight- or branched-chain alkyl of 1-8 carbon atoms, phenyl, or phenyl substituted by alkyl of 1-4 carbon atoms or halogen atoms and the inorganic and organic salts thereof are very satisfactory for coloring hair. They are readily oxidized by atmospheric oxygen at room temperature without a catalyst, and they provide intense, bright and fast dyeings in a short tie. They are applied in conventional manner from an aqueous medium.

Abstract: Compositions for changing the color of hair by the action (direct or indirect) of compounds therein which release nascent oxygen, do less harm to the hair when they have a content of a water-soluble 3-amino-1-hydroxypropane-1,1-diphosphonic compound. The compound can be in free acid or water-soluble salt or partial ester form. Hair which is pre-treated with one of the mentioned diphosphonic compounds is at least partially protected against the action of nascent oxygen.

Abstract: Water-soluble substituted and unsubstituted triamino pyrimidinones are effective dyes for hair when oxidized in conjunction with a coupling agent. The oxidation can be performed at an alkaline pH at room temperature with air, and provides long-lasting and light-fast dyeings over a broad color range.
