Abstract: The invention relates to blocking autophagy in the treatment or prevention of various forms of cancer by using the compounds of the invention or their pharmaceutically acceptable salts. Also described are pharmaceutical compositions comprising the compounds of the invention or pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof. Pharmaceutical compositions may be formulated as, but not limited to, tablets, capsules, solutions and ointments. The invention further relates to suitable pharmaceutical compositions, which contain the compounds of the invention as a combined preparation for simultaneous, separate or sequential use for the treatment and prevention of cancer.

Abstract: The present invention provides a fermented dried material derived from the fermented liquid obtainable by fermenting wheat germ with Saccharomyces cerevisiae in an aqueous medium for use in the treatment of inflammatory bowel disease. Methods of treating and/or preventing an inflammatory bowel disease are also described.

Abstract: The invention concerns an immunostimulatory and metastasis inhibiting fermented, dried vegetal material, pharmaceutical compositions containing the latter, the production process and the use of the dried material in the production dietary supplement and of immunostimulatory and metastasis inhibiting pharmaceutical compositions. The material according to the invention can be obtained by fermentation of wheat germ in an aqueous medium in the presence of Sacharomyces cerevisiae and by drying the fermented liquid.
