    Abstract: An intelligent baby caring method and arrangement helps to recognize and maintain emotional interaction between mother and her baby and to improve the baby's life rhythm and calm and soothe him/her automatically when needed and help him/her to fall asleep and to wake up at the most convenient time and way. The aim is to help the mother with her baby to find optimal life and care rhythm. The invention is focused on a platform (101) with many sensors, sensor sheet (120), a transducer to produce acoustic and mechanical vibrations (14) and an airflow blower (132). Sensors are also fixed to the mother (10) and in the care room (198). A sleep/activity graph of the baby and sleep/emotion graph of the mother are measured and tracked with multimodal sensors and an artificial intelligence unit (200) processes audio, motion and airflow actions given to the baby from the platform to help the baby to move from an improper to optimal sleep/activity level.

The user of the comparator stores his evaluation of the properties included in the targets to be evaluated in a database in the server in the data network using a graphic one- or two-dimensional evaluation frame. In the comparator the comparator user's evaluations are compared to property evaluations given by a reference user. When calculating the total accuracy percentage of the comparison the evaluations given by the comparator user are weighted with a weighting coefficient, which is obtained by normalizing first the importance evaluations of all the properties given by the reference user and by using the normalized importance evaluation of a certain property as the weighting coefficient for this property.

The system comprises a server (1), the workstation of the main user (3), a number of workstations for evaluators (4-7) and the software used by the web-browser. The main user formulates the inquiry. The server requests through email the evaluators to answer it. The evaluations are entered graphically using a two-dimensional table. The axes of the table present the dimensions to be evaluated. The program calculates normalization for the answers given so that the mean value is located in the origin. When a report is requested the server calculates the normalized mean-value figure, places the points in the two-dimensional table and adds ellipses around them, the dimensions of which present the deviation of the points in the direction in question.

Used together with a pair of binoculars or a telescope, the device provides a light and easy-to-use means of audiovisual observation of distant objects, and when provided with an integral or external tape recorder it is also suited for amateur use for the recording of wildlife sounds.

    Abstract: The invention relates to an optical device for measuring moisture in a substrate, in which device water is conveyed from the substrate along a porous absorption part (5) on a surface (4) of a prism so that is causes the critical angle of the total reflection to be changed thereon as a result of the change of the index of refraction. Another surface of the prism is dyed or patterned and covered in such a manner that it becomes visible only through reflection from the surface (4) when the surface is dry. When the surface (4) is moist, only the absorption part is visible through the viewing surface. The invention is advantageous in that due to the application of the principle of total reflection the change from an indication of the presence of moisture to an indication of the absence of moisture takes place sharply, not gradually.
