  • Patent number: 10788009
Abstract: The invention relates to a device for recovering wave energy, the device including a drum which is adapted to rotate around its centre axis and inside which an electric generator is adapted, arranged to be rotated by the rotating motion of said drum. In order for the device to recover energy better than prior art devices, the device includes at least one wing adapted on the outside of the drum, the wing being arranged to turn in such a way that it may be turned from a first position to a second position whereby, as the wing is in its first position, the motion of water in a first direction of the drum centre axis is arranged to rotate the drum in a first direction, and as the wing is in its second position, the motion of water in a second direction of the drum centre axis is also arranged to rotate the drum in said first direction, and the turning of the wing is arranged to take place under control of a pressure sensor.

  • Patent number: 7908854
Abstract: The invention relates to a method and an arrangement for recovering energy contained by waves. In the arrangement, a plurality of collecting devices (8) is coupled in series. Each collecting device comprises a float (7) coupled by means of a power transmission member (10, 11) to a motion converter (13). The coupling between the collecting devices may be mechanical, the motion converters being coupled up by means of an intermediate shaft (60).

Abstract: The invention relates to a method and a device for recovering energy contained by waves. The collecting device (8) comprises a float (7) coupled by means of one or more support bars (10, 11) to an actuator (12). At least one support bar is rigidly coupled to the float (7) or to a support member (62) in the float. In addition, the float (7) is arranged substantially entirely below water level.

  • Patent number: 6546842
Abstract: A pressure-fluid-operated power unit producing a rotating motion for positioning valves or similar actuators into a desired position. The power unit comprises an annular cylinder space and at least two pairs of pistons arranged to move in said cylinder space respect to each other, first pistons of the piston pairs being arranged to rotate around the shaft of the cylinder space and second pistons being immovably arranged with respect to at least one end flange of the cylinder space or to a casing of the cylinder space, and pressure fluid conduits for leading pressure fluid into and out of the spaces between the pistons.

  • Patent number: 6158987
Abstract: A power unit for use as a pressure-fluid-operated motor and/or a pressure fluid pump, the power unit comprising a cylinder space, pistons movable in the cylinder space and channels for pressure fluid. The cylinder is annular and the pistons extend radially to the inner circumferential surface of the cylinder space and are arranged to rotate around the axis of the cylinder space. The power unit further comprises a transmission shaft and locking members for successively locking the pistons so that they cannot rotate with respect to the cylinder space. The pistons are alternately locked while pressure fluid is alternately supplied and discharged from chambers between the pistons so that the pistons are rotated in succession either to deliver power as a motor or pressurized fluid as a pump.
