Abstract: A method to dynamically adjust the amount of free space in a storage group is disclosed herein. In certain embodiments, such a method may include monitoring the amount of free space in an active storage group. The method may further include maintaining an overflow storage group containing unused volumes. When the free space in the active storage group falls below a lower threshold value, the method may automatically move a volume from the overflow storage group to the active storage group. Conversely, when the free space in the active storage group exceeds an upper threshold value, the method may automatically transfer data from a volume in the active storage group to other volumes in the active storage group, and move the volume from the active storage group to the overflow storage group. A corresponding computer program product and apparatus are also disclosed herein.

Abstract: A system and method includes providing a chassis comprising multiple slots, with each slot having a unique slot number assigned thereto. Multiple servers, each having at least one globally unique identifier associated therewith, are provided to plug into one or more of the slots. At least one storage device is provided having one or more storage volumes. To map volumes to specific servers, a volume may be assigned to a slot by identifying a slot number associated with the slot. This slot may then be mapped to a globally unique identifier associated with a server plugged into the slot. In selected embodiments, the globally unique identifier includes a WWNN, a WWPN, or other unique identifier.

Abstract: A method of forming a one-piece mop swab is disclosed, the method comprising: providing at least one continuous, generally planar sheet of absorbent material in which sheet of material are formed a plurality of bounded openings arranged discontinuously in at least first and second directions to define an absorbent surface characterized by a network of seamlessly interconnected absorbent regions of said sheet. The at least one sheet of absorbent material includes lateral edges, the lateral edges of the at least one sheet being joined to define a continuous surface, or belt-like shape, having vertically spaced-apart first and second open ends which may be secured to a selected mop in known fashion.

Abstract: A one-piece mop swab, and method of manufacture thereof, is disclosed. The one-piece mop swab comprises at least one generally planar sheet of absorbent material, the sheet having a plurality of bounded openings therein which are arranged discontinuously in at least first and second directions to define an absorbent surface characterized by a network of seamlessly interconnected absorbent regions of the material sheet.

Abstract: A mop swab is disclosed which comprises a plurality of individual cords of suitably absorbent material of finite lengths, wherein adjacent cords are interwoven with each other at a plurality of intermittent points along their respective lengths to define a reticular pattern.
