  • Publication number: 20230294927
Abstract: A sprocket wheel for driving an edge driven helical belt conveyor in a food handling facility, such as a freezing facility, comprising at least one integral body with a curved wheel rim part, said curved wheel rim part comprising at least two parallel rows of teeth; and a hub for carrying the integral body and for providing for attachment to a shaft.

  • Patent number: 8289378
Abstract: This invention uses LEDs and cross-polarization to produce bright, high-resolution digital images, both with and without glint (which adversely affects the clarity of standard colposcopic images), as well as streaming video at lower resolution. The invention allows for deeper layers of the tissue to be more efficiently visualized at multiple magnifications, thereby enhancing the invention's diagnostic capabilities, and it includes a focusing subsystem and a computerized data management system to archive and annotate still image data.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: November 14, 2008
Date of Patent: October 16, 2012
    Assignee: STI Medical Systems, LLC
Inventors: Marcelo Esteban Soto-Thompson, Andrew Beaumont Whitesell, Ulf Peter Gustafsson
  • Patent number: 8147820
Abstract: An attenuated bacteria has been made by an insertion mutation in the iglC gene of Francisella asiatica, by allelic exchange. The attenuated strain proved to be an effective vaccine by providing protection against an infection of F. asiatica in tilapia, and is believed would at least partially immunize fish from other species of Francisella. The vaccine of the attenuated Francisella asiatica ?iglC mutant can also serve as vectors to present antigens from other pathogens to the fish, thereby serving as vaccines against other pathogens as well. In addition, a highly sensitive and specific assay that can be used for the specific identification of F. asiatica in fish has been developed.
