  • Patent number: 10660253
Abstract: A counter-rotating twin shaft gardening system is provided herein. The gardening system includes a drive shaft operably coupled to first and second shafts for driving the first shaft in the first direction and the second shaft in the second direction. A first ground manipulation device is attached to the first shaft. A second ground manipulation device is attached to the second shaft. The first and second ground manipulation devices including a plurality of teeth and a plurality of long arms. The plurality arms extend further outward from a planar portion than the plurality of teeth. A release system is disposed within the drive shaft to reduce or reverse the rotation of the first and second shafts when debris is disposed between the first and second ground manipulation devices. The release system is formed from a first portion and a second portion of the drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 10666699
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method may calculates a latest seekable point for a live edge of a media program and determines a current playback position of the media program. The latest seekable point for the live edge corresponds to a latest time in the media program that can be played within a threshold. The method selects among a first range, a second range, and a third range based on the current playback position and the latest seekable point. A first feature is enabled when the first range is selected, a second feature is enabled when the second range is selected, and whichever of the first feature or the second feature that is currently enabled is not changed to continue displaying whichever of the first feature and the second feature that is currently enabled when the third range is selected.

  • Patent number: 10298643
Abstract: In some embodiments, a method may receive a seekable range position for the live edge of a live media program and a current playback time. A distance between the position and the current playback time is calculated and compared to three or more feature ranges. A first range is where the user is considered watching live, a second range is where the user is considered not watching live, and a third range is where the user state is not changed. The method enables a first feature that displays a first control indicating that the media program is in a live state for a first range. The method enables a second feature that displays a second control to allow seeking to the live edge for a third range. The method does not change whichever of the first feature or the second feature this is currently enabled for a second range.

  • Publication number: 20080140574
Abstract: An electronic device (for example, a NIC card) can perform a base function (for example, “dumb” NIC functionality) and also has specialized hardware for performing an enhanced function (for example, TCP offload functionality). Initially, the electronic device is capable of performing the base function but the enhanced function is disabled. The electronic device is priced to be price competitive with other devices that perform the base function but not the enhanced function. By this pricing, large numbers of the electronic devices are disseminated into the marketplace. Once an electronic device has been disseminated and supplied to a user, the user can make an additional payment to have the enhanced function enabled. In one embodiment, a user who pays for the enhanced functionality accesses a web-based license manager and receives a license key. The license key is usable to write a capabilities code into the electronic device that enables the enhanced function.

  • Patent number: 5694459
Abstract: A high-speed information service system is provided which uses a unique identifier received during call setup to retrieve automatically a personalized profile for an information service subscriber. The identifier uniquely identifies the subscriber, thereby allowing the information retrieval process to begin immediately after the call is setup. The system utilizes Integrated Services Digital Networks (ISDN) signaling and temporary, "out-of-band" signaling to improve information retrieval capability. ISDN signaling permits electronic addressing of information requested by the subscriber, thereby eliminating the delays which accompany DTMF signal processing. Communications between an information service provider and an individual information source are conducted using out-of-band signaling. That is, call setup and information request are processed using a channel other than the channel which carries data between the information service provider, the information source and the subscriber.
