  • Publication number: 20240122912
Abstract: The present invention describes the development of a novel, tumor epithelial cell and tumor-associated macrophage (TAM)-targeting, blood brain barrier (BBB) crossing glucose-based nanospheres (CSP). More specifically, the present invention discloses a nanoformulation and/or a composition having anticancer activity comprising of carbon nanosphere (CSP) and a sigma receptor targeting ligand (H8) in the ratio of 1:0.08 to 1:0.2, a complex prepared thereof, a process for preparation thereof and a kit for delivery of the drug molecule or the formulation or the composition to tumor site.

  • Patent number: 9034387
Abstract: The present invention provides solution to the problem involved in delivery of active molecules to nucleus. More particularly, the invention provides intrinsically fluorescent and inherently surface functionalized carbon nanospheres which are non-toxic. Also, these carbon nanospheres [CSP] were adsorbed with CTPB [CSP-CTPB] and the adsorbed CSP-CTPB are permeable to cells with nuclear targeting ability. In addition, the present invention provides a composition, a process to prepare the composition comprising CSP with adsorbed active/therapeutic molecules. Further, the instant invention provides a method for delivering active molecules inside a cell nucleus.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: September 30, 2008
Date of Patent: May 19, 2015
Assignee: Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research
Inventors: Tapas Kumar Kundu, Eswaramoorthy Muthusamy, Sr., Ruthrotha Selvi Bharatha Vikru, Dinesh Jagadeesan
  • Patent number: 8404280
Abstract: The present invention provides solution to the problem involved in preparation of metal nanosponges using templates and polymers. The instant invention is successful in providing a simple, template free single step process for the preparation of metal nanosponges having porous low density and high surface area. These metal nanosponges were found to be good self-supported substrates for surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) and have shown significant anti-bacterial activity.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: May 4, 2009
Date of Patent: March 26, 2013
Assignee: Jawaharlal Nehru Centre for Advanced Scientific Research
Inventors: Eswaramoorthy Muthusamy, Sai Krishna Katla
