  • Patent number: 9220099
Abstract: Embodiments of wireless devices and methods to support a clock synchronization protocol that is provided independently and in parallel to multiple protocol abstraction level (PAL) and other upper layer entities and to multiple streams per each of the PAL and the upper layer entities. The frequency and time synchronization messages are delivered by MAC management action frames and can be aggregated in A-MPDU together with data, management and control MPDUs.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 27, 2012
Date of Patent: December 22, 2015
    Assignee: INTEL CORPORATION
Inventors: Solomon Trainin, Etan Shirron, Yaniv Frishman
  • Patent number: 8856842
Abstract: In a wireless video system, the clock rate for wirelessly transmitting the video data from the transmitting device should be identical to the clock rate for receiving the video data at the receiving device. But the two devices have separate clocks, whose frequencies may drift apart over time, leading the video buffer to be over run or under run. Clock synchronizing messages to prevent this may be sent at short intervals when clock synchronization is first being acquired, and at larger intervals after clock synchronization has already been achieved and is merely being maintained.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: December 6, 2012
Date of Patent: October 7, 2014
    Assignee: Intel Corporation
Inventors: Guoqing C. Li, Etan Shirron, Yaniv Frishman, George R. Hayek

  • Patent number: 8311172
Abstract: A method is disclosed of synchronizing a first high data-rate radio transceiver and a second high data-rate radio transceiver. The first high data-rate radio transceiver is associated to a first lower data-rate radio transceiver and the second high data-rate radio transceiver is associated to a second lower data-rate radio transceiver. The method comprises time synchronizing the first and second lower data-rate radio transceivers, determining a timing information concerning operation of the first high data-rate radio transceiver relative to operation of the first lower data-rate radio transceiver, transmitting the timing information to the second lower data-rate radio transceiver, and time synchronizing the first and second high data-rate radio transceivers using the transmitted timing information.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: July 17, 2006
Date of Patent: November 13, 2012
    Assignee: Infineon Technologies AG
    Inventors: Michael Lewis, Etan Shirron

  • Publication number: 20060050708
Abstract: A method transmits information in a communication system. The method includes transmitting information from a transmitting device to a receiving device through a communication channel, checking whether the receiving device has received the information without errors, and transmitting an acknowledgement notification from the receiving device to the transmitting device if the receiving device has received the information without errors. The acknowledgement notification includes an indication of a capability of the receiving device to receive further information from the transmitting device.
