Publication number: 20150057037Abstract: A unified messaging system which can provide messaging services for a plurality of different “message types” is disclosed. The unified messaging system can serve as a single interface to a number of messaging services provided by various messaging components which use different message types (e.g., mail server). A unified message type is implemented and presented to a user as an abstract message. In addition, the unified messaging system can automatically determine, based on a first selected feature, if one or more message types should be used. A particular message type can also be automatically selected as a “best message type” based on one or more selected options.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 3, 2014Publication date: February 26, 2015Applicant: LENOVO GROUP LIMITEDInventors: Jason Rukman, Joseph Edward Heitzeberg, Thomas Jay Hoover, Ethan Lowry, Patrick Greer Franklin

Publication number: 20140354782Abstract: An apparatus for receiving an image sensor-enabled smartphone, enabling a user of the apparatus to capture and view three-dimensional images with a smartphone normally capable of only capturing and rendering two-dimensional images. The apparatus includes a first arrangement of optics, said first arrangement being aligned with an image sensing arrangement of a smartphone when the smartphone is inserted into the apparatus. The apparatus also includes a second arrangement of optics, said second arrangement of optics being aligned with a display portion of a smartphone when the smartphone is inserted into the apparatus. The first arrangement of optics enables capture and/or rendering of a stereoscopic visual data stream (3-D still images or 3-D full-motion video, among others). The second arrangement of optics enables a viewer to see a stereoscopic effect when any stereoscopic visual data stream accessible by the smartphone is rendered by the display of the smartphone aligned with the second arrangement.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 29, 2014Publication date: December 4, 2014Inventor: Ethan Lowry

Patent number: 7337129Abstract: Methods and apparatuses for on-line prescription ordering are described. A prescription order is placed via a World Wide Web site and stored in a database. A server device periodically searches the database for new prescription orders. New prescription orders are routed to a distribution center for processing. The appropriate medical data (e.g., age, medical condition) is also routed to the distribution center for use in filling the prescription. Insurance information is collected and processed, if necessary. In one embodiment, in certain situations, a “pre-fill” order is sent to the distribution center to cause the distribution center to determine the actual medication to be dispensed, the cost covered by the insurance and other prescription processing to occur. In response to a user making financial arrangements (e.g., providing a credit card number) to cover any costs not covered by the insurance the prescription is filled and is shipped to the appropriate individual.Type: GrantFiled: January 6, 2000Date of Patent: February 26, 2008Assignee: Drugstore.com, Inc.Inventors: Ethan Lowry, David Sanderman
