  • Patent number: 11383661
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatus for automatically responding to a vehicle falling into water. The system includes a sensor configured to detect sensor data indicating whether the vehicle is falling into water. The system also includes an electronic control unit (ECU) connected to the sensor. The ECU is configured to determine that the vehicle is falling into water based on the sensor data. The ECU is also configured to adjust at least one feature of the vehicle in response to the determination that the vehicle is falling into water.

Date of Patent: July 12, 2022
Assignee: TOYOTA MOTOR ENGINEERING & MANUFACTURING NORTH AMERICA, INC.
    Inventors: Ethan Pomish, Joseph Conners
  • Patent number: 11377022
Abstract: A system for adaptive lights for use in a vehicle includes a headlight configured to generate light to be at least partially directed away from the vehicle to illuminate a portion of an environment of the vehicle. The system further includes a sensor configured to detect data corresponding to an environmental condition in the environment of the vehicle. The system further includes an electronic control unit (ECU) coupled to the headlight and the sensor and configured to determine the environmental condition based on the detected data and to adjust an intensity and an orientation of the light generated by the headlight based on the environmental condition.

  • Patent number: 11190155
Abstract: A system for audio control in a vehicle includes a speaker designed to output vehicle audio data in a cabin of the vehicle at a volume. The system further includes a microphone designed to detect microphone data in the cabin of the vehicle. The system further includes a memory designed to store an audio profile corresponding to desirable operation of the volume of the speaker. The system also includes an electronic control unit (ECU) coupled to the speaker, the microphone, and the memory and designed to control the volume of the speaker based on the detected microphone data and the audio profile.

  • Patent number: 11166134
Abstract: Apparatuses, systems, and methods to identify a first communication transmitted based on a first communication identifier that identifies a first vehicle. The first communication originates from a second vehicle that includes a code associated with a second communication identifier that identifies the second vehicle. The technology identifies based on the first communication, a third communication identifier that identifies a third vehicle. The technology causes a second communication to be transmitted based on the third communication identifier.

  • Patent number: 10984299
Abstract: Detection systems, apparatus, and related methods for use with vehicle sensor modules are disclosed. A disclosed detection system for one or more vehicles includes a vehicle sensor module and a positioning feature disposed on a vehicle exterior or infrastructure. The positioning feature includes a machine-readable code associated with predefined calibration data of the positioning feature. The detection system also includes a vehicle controller configured to detect, via the vehicle sensor module, the positioning feature when the positioning feature is visible to the vehicle sensor module. The vehicle controller is configured to obtain the predefined calibration data in response to reading the machine-readable code and calibrate the vehicle sensor module based on the predefined calibration data.
