A set screw is located on and detachable from the lid bottom. The set screw is configured to engage and releasably attach the spout to the lid. Attachment may be facilitated by spout insertion into curved tracks with a terminal end in a lid recess. Another straw may be releasably attached to the lid bottom and extend downward into a drinking container. The set screw member may have a channel that passes through it, and that forms a continuous channel (together with the spout and/or other straw) when the spout is flipped up for the fluid passage from the container.

The convertible hip belt includes a separable fastener that adjustably couples a strap end of the right hip pocket to a strap end of the left hip pocket. In the independent mode, the convertible hip belt is decoupled from the backpack and the right and left hip pockets are instead coupled to each other.
