  • Publication number: 20070149719
Abstract: This invention provides a granular polysaccharide polymer having phthalocyanine bonded thereto which is a crosslinked polymer comprising a phthalocyanine skeleton covalently bonded to a crosslinked granular porous chitosan. When this crosslinked polymer is used as an adsorbent, a polycyclic organic material present as a mixture in a solution can be selectively adsorbed, desorbed, or separated. The granular polysaccharide polymer having phthalocyanine bonded thereto is excellent not only in the ability to adsorb polycyclic organic materials, but in the ability to desorb the adsorbed polycyclic organic materials. Accordingly, the crosslinked polymer is particularly useful for selective adsorption, desorption/concentration, or separation of polycyclic organic materials, e.g., mutagens, present in a very small amount, for example, in environments, foods, table luxuries, biological samples and can be widely utilized for the qualitative determination, quantitative determination, or removal of mutagens.

  • Publication number: 20070106033
Abstract: This invention provides a crosslinked polymer produced by polymerizing one or more crosslinking monomers and bonding, preferably covalently bonding, a phthalocyanine skeleton to the resultant polymer. The degree of crosslinking is 1% or higher. When this crosslinked polymer is used as an adsorbent, a polycyclic organic material present as a mixture in a solution can be selectively adsorbed, desorbed, or separated. The crosslinked polymer having a phthalocyanine bonded thereto is excellent not only in the ability to adsorb polycyclic organic materials, but in the ability to desorb the adsorbed polycyclic organic materials.

  • Patent number: 4673503
Abstract: A filter element adapted to be incorporated in filter devices such as air filter, oil filter and fuel filter is disclosed which includes a pair of end plates and a filter material folded so as to form a series of pleats and disposed between the end plates to define a hollow cylinder having outer and inner circumferences. The space between the circumferences is divided into at least six areas to contain the pleats with symmetrical pattern. Each of the areas includes a group of the inner ridges, through which the pleats are connected to each other, arranged substantially along the pleat in the adjacent area to thereby vary the length of the pleats connected through the inner ridges of the group.

  • Patent number: 4655921
Abstract: A filter element suitable for use in a filter device such as air cleaner, oil filter or fuel filter for an automobile is disclosed. It includes a pair of end plates and a filter paper which is disposed between the end plates and folded so as to form rectangular-shaped sections, thus folded filter paper forming a hollow cylinder. The cylinder is divided into a plurality of portion areas by virtual planes extending in the radial direction thereof, and the rectangular-shaped sections in each of the portion areas are arranged such that every other sections are maintained in a parallel relation with predetermined spaces therebetween.
