  • Patent number: 7681702
Abstract: A main bag (3) stands independently and moves via free swiveling caster wheels 1 at four corners. A free swiveling caster wheel (1) is provided with a wheel (6), a yoke (7) connected to the wheel in a manner allowing the wheel to rotate, a radial bearing (8) with its outer ring (8B) connected to the yoke, a swivel shaft (9) connected to the inner ring (8A) of the radial bearing, and a mount (10) which holds the upper end of the swivel shaft fixed. The rotation axis (11) of the wheel is disposed with eccentricity with respect to the swivel axis (m), which is the center of rotation of the swivel shaft, allowing the yoke to swivel. The yoke and mount have a bend prevention gap (15) established between mutually opposing surfaces in close proximity. When a bending impact load acts on the swivel shaft, the yoke and mount press against each other at the bend prevention gap to support the bending impact force.

  • Publication number: 20090314596
Abstract: A bag is wheeled in an upright orientation on casters 1 on its bottom of by using a grip 2. A shaft 9 is coupled to a wheel 6 by one bearing 8. The ends of the shaft 9 are secured to the yoke 7 coupled to the bag portion 3. An outer ring 8B of the bearing 8 is fitted in a fit-in groove 15 arranged at the center of the wheel 6. The outer diameter A of the shaft 9 is smaller than the inner diameter B of an inner ring 8A, and spacer pipes 17 are inserted into the inner ring 8A. Insertion portions 17B of the spacer pipes 17 with a smaller outer diameter are attached to the inner ring 8A. Stopper portions 17A with a greater outer diameter are arranged between the inner ring 8A and the yoke 7 to hold the bearing 8.

  • Publication number: 20090188764
Abstract: The base-and-frame assembly for the wheeled luggage includes: a platform having a carriage surface for detachably carrying a separable bag thereon; and an extendable rod connected to the support tube in a self-standing manner and having a grip connected at an upper end, and being stopped by a stopper at an extended position. The platform is provided with a latitudinal reinforcement rib integrally formed below a planar carriage plate with its top face serving as the carriage surface. In a horizontal plane including such surface, the latitudinal reinforcement rib extends in a lateral direction orthogonal to the grip, protruding on a bottom face of the carriage plate. A reinforcement protrusion is integrally formed with the latitudinal reinforcement rib, protruding downwardly at an area below the support tube.

  • Patent number: 7165661
Abstract: A bag mounted with casters has a bag body attached to a base frame mounted with the casters at four corners of a bottom surface thereof. The base frame includes a loading table, and vertically extensible rods with a grip mounted at upper ends thereof. The extensible rods are fixed on one side of the loading table so as to stand on their own. Further, when the grip is raised, the extensible rods are curved or tilted so that the grip moves toward the middle of the loading table. The extensible rods are secured at a position in a retracted state by stoppers so that the grip is positioned at an upper portion of the bag body or above the bag body, and are secured at a position by the stoppers in an extended state so that a height of the grip from the bottoms of the casters is in a range of 60 to 100 cm.
