  • Publication number: 20110115599
Abstract: The present invention provides an inductor having high DC bias characteristics using a Fe alloy core and provides a method for manufacturing the same. The present invention relates to a wire-wound inductor which includes: a wire-wound inductor core obtained by grinding a compression molded mixed magnetic material powder including magnetic substance powder mixed with binder; and a metal conductive wire wound around a groove section of the wire-wound inductor core. For example, the magnetic substance powder has content ratio of 4 to 13 wt % of Si; 4 to 7 wt % of Al; the balance Fe; and unavoidable impurity. The magnetic substance powder has particle diameter distribution in which equal to or greater than 90% of the magnetic substance powder has particle diameter equal to or lower than 75 ?m.

  • Publication number: 20110024671
Abstract: In one embodiment, a method is disclosed for producing a composite magnetic material, wherein the non-magnetic binder comprises a layered compound having an insulation property and the non-magnetic binder and soft magnetic metal powder is admixed with each other, the admixture is compacted to a desired shape, and the compact is heat-treated under predetermined condition to form a thin insulating layer made of the insulating layered compound on the surface of the soft magnetic metal powder, thereby producing the composite magnetic material having a withstand voltage of 20 V or more.

  • Publication number: 20110024670
Abstract: Certain embodiments provide a composite magnetic material for an inductor, wherein a non-magnetic material contains a first binder as a compacting additive, and is added to and mixed with the soft magnetic metal powder, and a second binder that is impregnated to a compact as a binder after the heat treatment of the compact obtained by adding the first binder to the soft magnetic metal powder and compacting it, and the soft magnetic metal powder contains 40% by mass or more (including 100%) of spherical particles of which the ratio L2/L1 between a perimeter L1 of a particle cross-section in the two dimensional plane view and a perimeter L2 of a circle having equivalent cross-sectional area is 0.5 or more.

  • Patent number: 5614805
Abstract: In a method for charging a secondary battery having a positive electrode, a negative electrode, and an electrolyte, a pulsed current is supplied to the secondary battery to make the pulsed current flow between the positive electrode and the negative electrode through the electrolyte to thereby charge the secondary battery. The pulsed current comprises positive pulse current which has a positive pulse amplitude corresponding to a first current density of 1 .mu.A/cm.sup.2 to 100 mA/cm.sup.2 in the positive electrode. However, the pulsed current may include a negative pulse current following after each positive pulse and having a negative amplitude corresponding to a second current density not greater than a quarter of the first current density.

  • Patent number: 5011552
Abstract: A rare earth metal-iron-boron permanent magnet is produced by a sintering method using a magnetic powder prepared from an ingot of R.sub.2 Fe.sub.14 B and another powder prepared from a rapidly-quenched alloy ribbon of R-T-B. R is least one element selected from the group consisting of yttrium and rare earth metals and T is at least one element selected from the group consisting of transition metals. During sintering almost all the rapidly-quenched alloy powder melts to form a liquidus phase which cements the magnetic particles at a sintering temperature. The liquidus phase generates a magnetic crystalline phase and a solid solution phase upon cooling from the sintering temperature. A comparatively large amount of rapidly-quenched alloy powder is used to produce a magnet having a reduced amount of solid solution phase.
