  • Patent number: 6901861
Abstract: A cardboard sheet printing apparatus including: a rotating body that freely rotates inside an ink circulation passage through which ink flows, and a rotation-imparting assembly which is magnetically coupled with the rotating body outside the ink circulation passage and imparts rotation to the rotating body. When the rotating body is caused to rotate by the rotation-imparting assembly, the variation in the load current value that occurs upon changes in the viscosity of the ink that contacts the rotating body is detected; and this variation is compared with load current values that correspond to respective changes in the ink viscosity value stored in memory beforehand and is converted into an ink viscosity value and then displayed, so that the viscosity of the ink is adjusted based upon the calculated results.

  • Patent number: 6800052
Abstract: A corrugating roll design for a corrugating machine including a pair of parallel, spaced apart, corrugating rolls which rotate in opposite directions on their respective rotational axes, the rotational axes being spaced apart a predetermined distance, and each of the corrugating rolls being formed along its outer peripheral surface with longitudinally extending teeth with tooth tips and tooth roots. Depressions are provided in the tops of the tooth tips of at least one of the corrugating rolls and spaced apart a predetermined distance along the length of the roll. Each of the depressions has a bottom surface which is located to establish a spacing between the bottom surface of the depression and the tooth root of the other corrugating roll at the actual corrugation impression zone in the nip, which spacing is greater than the thickness of the paper medium.

  • Patent number: 5238352
Abstract: A web roll transferring apparatus consisting of a roll stand, a couple of bogies which run on the rails disposed on each side of the roll stand and a turntable disposed in a roll transferring station locating in front of the roll stand so as to be rotatable horizontally; transference of a web roll being designed to be carried out between the turntable and the bogies stopping at the predetermined positions provided on each side of the turntable; characterized in that at least one jack disposed beneath the turntable, which can be operated by a fluid pressure and the like so as to tilt the turntable to one of the bogies or to the side opposite to the roll stand to a predetermined angle, and that jacks for tilting the bogies toward the turntable may be disposed at the positions by the turntable where the bogies are to stop.

  • Patent number: 4251313
Abstract: A paper web is passed between a pair of first and second corrugating rolls to form corrugations therein. The second corrugating roll is provided with a plurality of longitudinally spaced annular suction grooves in communication with a suction device from which subatmospheric pressure is applied through the annular suction grooves to the corrugated web, while it is travelling around the second corrugating roll, retaining the corrugations in the flutes of the roll.
