  • Patent number: 5919056
Abstract: A housing of a female connector has an accommodating space, an opening, and lock stoppers. The accommodating space retains a mating connector, and accommodates a slide lock member and a resilient member. The accommodating space is arranged close to a terminal accommodating chamber so as to be slidable in an engaging direction, the terminal accommodating chamber allowing a connecting terminal to be inserted thereinto. The slide lock member is biased during disengaging operation. The opening is arranged on part of the accommodating space and causes part of the slide lock member to be exposed. The lock stopper is arranged on a side surfaces of the accommodating space and suppresses movement of the mating connector. The slide lock member has a flexible disengaging arm that has a separating projection. The separating projection is pressed during the disengaging operation.

  • Patent number: 5743760
Abstract: A connector assembly comprises a first connector housing with a flexible locking arm, and a second connector housing having an engaging section which is provided for the flexible locking arm. In the first connector housing, a shorting contactor including an elastic contact plate is set in a displacement permitting space provided for the flexible locking arm in such a manner that the elastic contact plate is displaced in association with the displacement of the flexible locking arm. In the second connector housing, a pair of engagement detecting metal terminals are provided in confrontation with the shorting contactor. When the first and second connector housings are incompletely engaged with each other, the shorting contactor is not contact with the engagement detecting metal terminals by the displacement of elastic contact plate which is due to the displacement of the flexible locking arm.

  • Patent number: 5581323
Abstract: Optical apparatus for controlling operations based on a user's visual axis includes a finder for observing an object, and circuitry for judging whether or not a user is looking into the finder. First control circuitry is provided for discontinuing a predetermined operation of the apparatus when the judging circuitry judges that the user is not looking into the finder. Second control circuitry is provided for beginning the predetermined operation regardless of the result judged by the judging circuitry. Selection circuitry is provided for selecting one of an operation of the first control circuitry and an operation of the second control circuitry according to an operational state of the apparatus. Preferably, the device is incorporated into a camera in which a self-timer or a remote-control photographing mode may be carried out even if the user's visual axis is not detected in the view finder.

  • Patent number: 5444473
Abstract: An ink storage unit used in an ink jet recording apparatus for recording by ejecting ink comprises a plurality of ink storage chambers, a plurality of movable walls and a mechanism for holding each of the movable walls. Each of the ink storage chambers stores ink. Each of the movable walls is provided in the each ink storage chamber respectively so as to seal stored ink against air, and each movable wall can move according to a change of amount of ink in each ink storage chamber. The mechanism for holding the movable walls exerts a force opposed to a force which is exerted on the each movable wall according to the change of amount of ink, on each of the movable walls so as to make the pressure in each ink storage chamber an appropriate negative pressure.

  • Patent number: 5391061
Abstract: A hermetic terminal cover is arranged to be mounted onto a hermetic terminal of, such as, a closed-type compressor. The hermetic terminal cover has terminal caps for covering respective terminal strips of the hermetic terminal. Each terminal strip includes a terminal pin fixedly passing through a metallic base with an insulator interposed therebetween. The terminal caps are mutually connected by flexible ribs each having a curved shape, and preferably an arc shape. Accordingly, each terminal cap has a high degree of positional or displacement freedom to facilitate mounting of the terminal cap onto the corresponding terminal strip. Further, each terminal cap has an increased thickness at a portion corresponding to an exposed surface of the insulator holding the terminal pin. Accordingly, adverse affection of metallic powders, such as, generation of short circuits and sparks between the terminal pins and the metallic base is effectively prevented.

  • Patent number: 5274562
Abstract: A "safe" position for a tool changing operation in a numerically controlled machine tool is determined based on specific tool size and machining location. In one embodiment, tool change positions are taught in a teaching operation, and are stored for future reference. During machining, as each tool changing position is encountered, a pointer has advanced to the next such position so that, upon execution of the next tool changing command, the unit moves to the appropriate location. According to other embodiments, the machining program itself is made to store the tool changing positions. This data may be added to the program by an editor on the basis of the information found in the memory, or the data may be added in the initial creation of the program. The data on tool changing positions is then decoded from the machining program when the program is read or executed.
