  • Patent number: 5768625
Abstract: A primary object is to provide a communication apparatus, in particular, its buffer memory which conforms mainly to specifications of SAE-J1850 or ISO-9141.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 27, 1995
Date of Patent: June 16, 1998

  • Patent number: 5629852
Abstract: Upon an occurrence of a failure in the throttle valve driving system of an engine provided with a throttle actuator 7, a vehicle control device for controlling the output power of the engine disables some of the cylinders (1) in accordance with the outputs of the acceleration pedal position sensor 61 and the throttle position sensor 17 when the vehicle is being driven (i.e., when the transmission is not in the neutral or the parking position), and (2) in accordance with the output of the throttle position sensor 17 when the vehicle is stopped (i.e., when the transmission is in the neutral or the parking position). Further, the vehicle control device effects fuel cut when the rpm of the engine exceeds a predetermined level. Thus, even upon an occurrence of a failure in the throttle valve drive system, the output power of the engine can be safely controlled solely by means of the acceleration pedal when the vehicle is driven, and is regulated to an appropriate level when the vehicle is stopped.

  • Patent number: 5447134
Abstract: In a throttle valve control system, an accelerator pedal position sensor (APS) comprises a first APS for detecting a large amount of movement of an accelerator pedal which is relatively low in resolution and a second APS for detecting middle and small amounts of movement of the accelerator pedal which is relatively high in resolution, and a throttle valve controlling ECU has abnormal condition detector which determines that at lease one of the first and second APSs is in abnormal condition when the relationship between the output voltages of the first and second sensors is different from that which is established when the first and second APSs are in normal condition. Therefore, even when the accelerator pedal is moved slightly which has been positioned to open the throttle valve to a low or middle degree, the throttle valve is controlled, which improves the operability of the engine.

  • Patent number: 5390756
Abstract: A constant speed control device for controlling a vehicle speed in a constant speed, the device comprising a vehicle speed sensor for detecting an actual vehicle speed and a steering angle detecting means for detecting a steering angle of the vehicle. A running condition setting member is provided for setting at least one of an aimed vehicle speed for the constant speed control, an activation and cancellation of the constant speed control. A control member is provided for calculating controlled variables of the vehicle speed for the constant speed control on the basis of the steering angle and a deviation between the actual vehicle speed detected by the vehicle speed sensor and the aimed vehicle speed set by the running condition setting means, to perform the constant speed control. On the basis of at least one predetermined threshold of the steering angle information, the control member reduces the aimed vehicle speed and performs the constant speed control or cancels the constant speed control.

  • Patent number: 5367644
Abstract: A communication system in which a control microcomputer (1) for an electronic device and a peripheral device thereof are connected with each other with less signal lines by using serial communication interface function (SIO) integrated in a microcomputer, wherein since an accessing request signal (REQ signal:first signal) from the control microcomputer (1) to a communication IC (3) is also used as a response signal to an access request signal from the communication IC (3) to the control microcomputer (1), and on the contrary, all accessing request signal (INT signal:third signal) from the communication IC (3) to the control microcomputer (1) is also used as a response signal to an accessing request signal from the control microcomputer (1) to the communication IC (3), the number of control signals can be reduced.
