  • Publication number: 20100192637
Abstract: A circular knitting machine for men's socks with needles on the dial comprising a dial needles selector mechanism able to selectively move the dial needles to involve the selected needles in the formation of the stitches and to exclude the needles not selected. In addition the machine is able to repeatedly perform transfer of the stitch from the cylinder to the dial. Moreover, the machine is fitted with a mechanical traction mechanism for tensioning the sock being formed. In addition, the machine presents expedients to limit the deformation of the selector rods and reduce detrimental effects on the actuator or flaws in the formation of the stitch.

  • Patent number: 7739889
Abstract: A circular knitting machine for hosiery or the like, which comprises at least one needle cylinder which has a vertical axis and on the lateral surface of which there are axial slots. Each of these axial slots accommodates a needle (106) and an actuation element (110) for the needle (106) which can engage, with one of its ends, the needle (106) arranged in the same axial slot. The needle (106) or the actuation element (110) is provided with a fixed heel (103a), which protrudes radially from the axial slot, and a movable heel (104a) which can be extracted radially on command from the axial slot. Actuation cams are arranged around the needle cylinder and can be engaged by the fixed heels (103a) and by the movable heels (104a) in the extracted position. The machine can perform the usual knitting of known types of machine despite having an actuation cam set which has an extremely small number of actuation cams which can move for activation or deactivation, or none at all.

  • Publication number: 20100126229
Abstract: A method for knitting manufactured articles with circular knitting machines with high-fineness consisting in that at least one region of the manufacture is produced with a group of contiguous needles by reducing at least once the number of active needles of the group of needles by transferring the last loop of knitting formed by certain needles of the group of needles to contiguous needles of the group of needles and excluding from knitting the needles that have transferred the loop of knitting during the formation of at least one portion of a subsequent row of knitting by the needles that are kept active. The manufacture region is produced by providing in succession portions of rows of knitting obtained by actuating the needle cylinder with a two direction rotary motion.

  • Publication number: 20090293549
Abstract: A method for knitting manufactured articles with circular knitting machines, particularly high-fineness circular knitting machines, which consists in that at least once during the formation of the manufactured article the number of active needles is reduced by transferring the last loop of knitting formed by certain needles to contiguous needles and thus excluding from knitting the needles that have transferred the loop of knitting during the formation of at least one subsequent row of knitting by the other needles that are kept active. This provides a manufactured article which has regions knitted with a certain number of needles and regions knitted with a smaller number of needles, obtaining particular transparency or shaping effects on the manufacture.

Abstract: A method for producing open-knit fabric with machines for knitting hosiery or other articles and an open-knit article obtained with the method. The method consists in producing in succession rows of knitting (A,B,C) by means of a plurality of needles (1,2), with openwork being performed which is constituted by holes, each of which is provided by means of a group of needles (1,2) in which a first needle (1), after taking part in the formation of a first row (A) of knitting, is freed from the loop (1a) of the first row (A) of knitting by transferring the loop to a second needle (2) that is contiguous to the first needle (1). The first needle (1) is actuated so as to resume knitting, forming a new loop (1b) of a row (B) of knitting that is subsequent to the first row (A).
