  • Publication number: 20240289148
Abstract: A method includes executing an application of a scripting language. The application of the scripting language uses first and second packages of an application programming interface (API). The first and second packages extend to each other. The method includes, from a class of the first package, calling and executing first native code of the API to implement a function of a method of the class of the first package. The first native code is in a programming language different from the scripting language. The executing the first native code of the API includes calling a method of a class of the second package. The called method of the class of the second package is executed using a virtual machine of the scripting language. The application of the scripting language may be a Java card application, and the programming language may be a C programming language.

  • Publication number: 20230393299
Abstract: A method for making electromagnetic directional resistivity measurements includes rotating an electromagnetic logging tool in a subterranean wellbore penetrating the formation. The logging tool includes a transmitting antenna and a receiving antenna spaced along a tool body with at least one of the transmitting antenna and the receiving antenna being a tiltted antenna. The electromagnectic logging tool is used to make a plurality of electromagnetic measurements at a corresponding plurality of frequencies while rotating in the wellbore. The plurality of measurements made at the corresponding plurality of frequencies is processed to compute a combined apparent resistivity of the subterranean formation. The processing includes minimizing a difference between a plurality of modeled measurements and the plurality of wellbore measurements in which the modeled measurements are computed using a model assuming a homogenous formation.

  • Patent number: 11428077
Abstract: A method for drilling includes obtaining formation-measurement pairings, training a machine-learning model using the formation-measurement pairings, receiving measurements obtained by a tool positioned in a well formed in a formation, and generating a formation model of at least a portion of the formation using the machine-learning model and the measurements. The formation model represents one or more physical parameters of the formation, one or more structural parameters of the formation, or both.

  • Patent number: 11307323
Abstract: Methods capable of determining a depth of investigation of a logging tool can include generating an error distribution model for a logging tool. The methods can also include defining a detection threshold above which a measured signal from a measurement channel of the logging tool can be considered reliable based on output from the error distribution model, and generating a simulated formation model to determine the depth of investigation. The depth of investigation can be biased by the detection threshold.
