  • Publication number: 20230266236
Abstract: An example system includes a light intensity measuring apparatus couplable to a food processing apparatus and a computing system. The light intensity measuring apparatus includes a chamber configured to receive a water sample from the food processing apparatus, a light source, a detector configured to detect light that has passed through the water sample and measure multiple times intensities of wavelengths of the light to obtain multiple sets of measured intensities of wavelengths, and a communication module configured to provide the multiple sets of measured intensities of wavelengths. The computing system may receive the multiple sets of measured intensities, process the multiple sets to obtain a set of values, apply a first set of decision trees to the set of values to obtain a first result indicating a positive or negative foodborne pathogen detection, generate a notification indicating either the positive of negative detection, and provide the notification.

  • Patent number: 9568988
Abstract: This disclosure describes a more efficient and configurable power allocation scheme for redundant power supply (RPS) systems used in network switches. This allocation scheme allows the system owner to assign power from a shared RPS unit to higher priority devices in any network switch in the system. This permits more granularity in assigning the RPS with backup power available to devices such as ports residing within individual switches in a multiple switch network. An efficient power allocation scheme for RPS allows the user to define the system priority of various devices for backup power according to the user's preferences. The user may assign the RPS to user-defined high priority devices in any piece of equipment. This makes RPS power allocation more flexible by offering the user more setup options for backup power.

  • Patent number: 9052482
Abstract: A portable, self-powered, interface converter for converting between Ethernet over twisted pair cables and Ethernet over optical fiber is described. In one implementation, the device may include a first interface to a power-over-Ethernet connection and a second interface to provide a connection to receive fiber optic cabling. A power-over-Ethernet (PoE) circuit may derive power from the PoE connection and output a corresponding power signal. A transcoder may perform physical layer conversion between Ethernet communications over twisted pair cabling connected to the first interface and Ethernet communications over the fiber optic cabling. The transcoder may be powered by the power signal output by the PoE circuit.

  • Patent number: 8630087
Abstract: A method for cooling a system having a midplane design in which the midplane includes holes to allow air to flow via the midplane. Cards connected to the midplane have a front face that includes holes to allow the air to flow. The air flows from front to back or back to front to cool the cards connected to the midplane. A multi-slot chassis includes rails to support the cards. The rails form spaces to permit access to sockets associated with the cards to which cables may be connected. Platforms associated with the cards may permit a user to manage cables connected to the cards.

  • Patent number: 8315254
Abstract: A bandwidth management card includes a switch control unit and multiple ports connected to one or more line cards that are separate from the bandwidth management card. The bandwidth management card further includes at least one switch, and multiple network ports, where each of the multiple network ports is connected to a respective link to at least one external network. A first switch of the at least one switch receives instructions from the switch control unit, switches a first subset of the multiple network ports through to a first port of the multiple ports based on the received instructions, and switches a second subset of the multiple network ports through to a second port of the multiple ports based on the received first instructions.
