  • Patent number: 6390066
Abstract: A fuel injection system for internal combustion engines in which the control of the fuel injection valve member is controlled by controlling the pressure of a control chamber. The control chamber is either relieved by a 3/2-way control valve or made to communicate with a high-pressure fuel source. The control valve is designed such that the control valve has a valve body, which on both sides carries a valve sealing face, which cooperate with a first valve seat and second valve seat, respectively, and control the inflow of high pressure into or outflow thereof out of the control chamber. To vary the dynamics of the control events, the valve body, upstream of the second valve sealing face, has a throttle gap, and downstream of the first valve sealing face the valve body has a collar, between the collar and the throttle gap a pressure conduit leads away to the control valve, the inflow and outflow to and from which is thus varied.

  • Patent number: 6161813
Abstract: A solenoid valve comprising a magnet armature which is embodied as having multiple parts and has an armature disk and an armature bolt. The magnet armature is guided in a slider. A damping device is provided in order to prevent post-pulse oscillation of the armature after a closing of the solenoid valve. The required short switching times of the solenoid valve can be exactly maintained with a device of this kind. The solenoid valve is designated for use in injection systems with a common rail.

  • Patent number: 5853161
Abstract: A solenoid valve which includes a valve member that has a flat sealing face which is on a face end that cooperates with a valve seat formed on a seat element that is embodied as spherical. The valve seat encompasses the outflow of a pressure conduit in the seat element. Because of the spherical nature, when the solenoid valve is put into operation, the seat face can increase in size by means of deformation of the seat region immediately adjoining the outflow of the pressure conduit. The seat region leads to a high degree of seat precision, which compensates for manufacture tolerances, combined with a high degree of high pressure tightness of the valve.

  • Patent number: 5711274
Abstract: A system and method for reducing the fuel pressure in a fuel injection system after the internal combustion engine to be supplied has been shut off, in which a high fuel pressure built up in a high-pressure reservoir chamber (common rail) by a high-pressure feed pump, is relieved into the supply tank via control valves that control the injection event and are provided on the injection valves that communicate with the common rail. For purposes of this pressure relief, the control valves are triggered such that they connect a pressure chamber of the injection valve with the common rail or the supply tank so briefly that the pressure urging the valve member of the injection valves in the opening direction remains below an opening pressure of the injection valves, and this triggering process of the control valves is repeated until a desired pressure in the common rail is reached.

  • Patent number: 5709195
Abstract: A fuel injection device with a pump plunger which is driven in reciprocation and a working space which is enclosed by the pump plunger, and is connected to an injection valve connected directly to the pump housing. To control the fuel injection quantity and the injection instant, a solenoid valve is provided which is arranged in a fuel passage that is connected to the pump working space and serves for the filling and/or relief of the pump working space. To reduce the volumes subjected to the high pressure, the fuel passage is arranged in such a way that the fuel passage intersects the cylinder bore which accommodates the pump working space, and the solenoid valve is arranged at the entry of this passage.

  • Patent number: 4960241
Abstract: A pump nozzle for a diesel engine, in which an injection pump element including a pump piston driven by a cam-shaft and a bushing is combined with an injection nozzle to a unit provide be associated with a motor cylinder. The pump piston is surrounded by an axially shiftable control sleeve controlling the begin of fuel injection in dependence on its axial position. A regulating member is guided on the pump element body for rotation relative to the control sleeve in dependence on an operating parameter of the motor. The control sleeve or the regulating member has a race which has, as seen in a top plan view, a circular shape and including with a normal plane extending in normal relation to the pump piston at least partially a pitch angle. A guide element which is rigidly connected with the respective other part (i.e. the regulating member or the control sleeve cooperates with this race.

  • Patent number: 4957090
Abstract: A pump nozzle for a diesel engine, in which an injection pump element including a pump piston driven by a cam-shaft via a thrust element and a pump element bushing is combined with an injection nozzle to provide a unit to be associated to one motor cylinder. The pump piston is surrounded by a control sleeve which is non-rotatable relative to the pump element busing. The pump piston can be rotated for adjusting its orientation relative to the control sleeve for the purpose of adjusting the supplied amount of fuel. An adjuster for adjusting the amount is disposed at substantially the same level as of the thrust element. The control sleeve is arranged completely within a pump spring, which partly surrounds the pump element bushing. The pump dement bushing is formed integrally with a blind longitudinal bore which receives the pump piston. The pump spring extends from the level of the adjuster for adjusting the amount of fuel to be injected per injection, to the level of the working chamber of the pump piston.
